Free Sunday Class: What to Pair with Spicy Foods?

"I'm making this great spicy green curry recipe - what in the world do I pair with it?"

Join us anytime between 2 and 4 pm this Sunday for a "walk-in wine class" addressing a question we hear a lot from our customers: What to drink with spicy foods.

Pairing wine with spicy food can be tricky. The wrong wine can make something that's pleasantly spicy into a five-alarm fire in your mouth, or simply get lost when put up against food with so much flavor intensity. In this informal class around our tasting bar, we'll taste a delicious cheese with a kick as well as the chicken sausages with green hatch chiles from our favorite local sausage maker, Stan of Simply Sausage. 

To go with them, we'll feature a crisp white that will help quench the thirst generated by spicy food, and a sophisticated (but great value!) red that won't make more gentle spices taste bitter. You'll learn how to tame the heat from chiles and peppercorns in a variety of different cuisines with something other than a nice, cold beer. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
