- Villa Jolanda Prosecco 200ml Individual Bottle Product #23927 (In Stock)
-
-
Villa Jolanda Prosecco is made from 100% Prosecco grapes grown in the hills north of Treviso. Grapes are hand-harvested, chilled in the vineyard, and given a low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit. The wine features lovely aromas of white flowers, orchard fruits, and a touch of mineral. Lightly sparkling with very pretty, small, bubbles, the wine is full of flavor - peach, ripe apple, lemon zest, and a nice mineral streak. Fruity and crisp, the wine finishes with a touch of mineral and yellow apple. A fantastic wine to keep on hand for everyday celebrations or to stock up on for Holiday parties. Delicious!
- San Polo Bodega Y Vinedos Piuquenes Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Product #23598 (In Stock)
-
-
Bodega y Viñedos San Polo was founded in the 1930s but is really just coming into its own in recent years. Their 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon "Piuquenes" refers to the first Indians who lived in the Mendoza’s southern region of San Carlos.
This is a ripe, fresh, Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of spice, fresh herb, black plum and ripe raspberry on the nose and palate. The sweet fruit is nestled in a medium-bodied, creamy, framework that alows the wine to drink nicely on its own or with burgers or any casual food. Nice value, too! - Ch Montaud Cotes De Provence Rose 2009 375 Ml Product #23303 (In Stock)

If you looked at this small bottle of Rose and thought it was cute, you have to buy it...seriously. Them be the rules.
We fell in love with this classic rosé of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault the first time we tasted it. It’s a pale pink wine bursting with wild strawberry fruit and a lovely herbal note at beginning and end. Very dry and completely refreshing and attractively packaged in the traditional curvy Provencal rose bottle.
We were a little surprised to see Wine Spectator recognize the quality here, but not at all surprised that in-the-know demand spiked right away. We felt lucky to secure one last allocation of a wine we’ve been enjoying all spring. We have 20 cases in stock now and another 10 cases arriving on June 22. So, get yours while you can! - Owl House Red Wine NV Product #22287 (In Stock)
-
-
Owl House comes to us from Ledgewood Creek, a large (350 acres) vineyard operation located in the Suisun Valley, located on the southeastern border of Napa. While Ledgewood’s main focus is growing grapes for other winemakers, they began to vinify some of their own fruit in 2001. About a year ago, Ledgewood introduced a new wine that featured some of the estate’s Rhone varietals blended with some Cabernet and Merlot. The winery won’t disclose the exact blend it uses for Owl House red, but we’re pretty sure it’s mainly Grenache and Syrah plus some Mourvedre and, possibly, Cinsault. We know for sure it's delicious!
Classic aromas of ripe cherry, licorice and vanilla lead to a soft, juicy, mouthful of ripe fruit, spice, and a bit of earth (which we think is the Mourvedre). It’s a round, plush, wine that’s all too easy to gulp without a thought, but that has enough complexity and depth to stand up to a little attention, too. The tannins are very ripe and light, and an attractive hint of walnut emerges on the finish. Drink this with burgers, stews, or just on its own with family and friends. - Rabbit Ridge Le Lapin Multiplicity Red NV Product #24699 (In Stock)

I’m not sure what’s in the water in Paso Robles, California, but it seems to inspire both cross-language puns and some interesting ideas in wine making. Nowhere else would you find someone making wine from a blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and – wait for it – Refosco! Leaves you scratching your head, and then you take a sip and do a double take. Wow, this stuff’s delicious – and cheap!
Multiplicity is a ripe, round, friendly wine that offers up ample aromas of red cherry and plum fruit with notes of cocoa butter, chocolate and spice. Then generous flavors of red and black fruits, graphite and a touch of menthol for complexity and lift. Nicely concentrated and softly ripe on the finish. The whole thing reminds you of cookouts at the beach somehow, so toss on some burgers and have a party! - Castillo De La Pena Gran Reserva Campo De Borja 2002 Product #25429 (In Stock)
-
-
A rich, mellow, red from Campo de Borja that opens with mature aromas of dark earth, smoke, and gentle black plum. In the mouth, soft and easy with flavors of mature black fruit and a dash of earth and spice. A rare value in mature red wine.

- Bricco Dei Tati Cortese Piemonte 2010 Product #24711 (In Stock)
-
-
Cortese is best known as the grape of Gavi, but it's grown seldom as interesting as this! This wine is surprisingly complex on the nose, although we struggled to put it to words. Think of smelling an herbal infusion with lemon, honey, and lavender on a sunny day. (Fanciful, but it's the best I could do!) In the mouth the wine is clean and crisp with notes of lemon, bees wax, and fresh herbs complicated by something hard to describe but vaguely grapefruity. finishes clean and fresh with just a hint of green apple. this is going to be our "go to" for picnics, cold seafood salads, and simple chicken dishes. A whole lotta wine for the money.
- Arnaud De Villeneuve Muscat Sec 2010 Product #24673 (In Stock)
-
-
If you think Muscat is just a grapey, often sweet, wine suitable for making into Moscato, well, think again! The 2010 Arnaud de Villeneuve Muscat Sec is a bone dry but wildly flamboyant wine from France’s Languedoc Roussillon region. Extravagant aromas of white grape, tropical flowers, ginger and spice burst out of the glass. In the mouth there’s an explosion of spiced citrus, apricot, ginger, and asian five spice flavors with a lovely honeysuckle note emerging in the mid-palate. The wine finishes dry and refreshing with chalky mineral and gingery lime lingering nicely. Yes, this will be fantastic with Asian dishes but it’s so much fun that you’ll need to keep plenty on hand to drink on its own as well. And, a great value to boot!
- Ch Grand Monguillet Bordeaux Rouge 2009 Product #25308 (In Stock)
-
-
What makes a great vintage “great”? I’d argue that a big element of “greatness” is the quality you find from smaller, lesser-known, estates. And that’s just one reason why critics and wine-lovers alike are so excited about 2009 in Bordeaux. Take Chateau Grand Monguillet Bordeaux Rouge 2009, for example. This small estate is so far “under the radar” that even the importer has almost no information on them. But, we know that in 2009, they harvested lovely, ripe, Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%), and Petit Verdot (10%) and then aged in all in barrel (20% new). Then, they gave it an attractive label and packed in real wood cases for export.
The result is a wine anyone would call “Bordeaux” from first sniff. Bright red currant and tart cherry fruit, tobacco, cedar, fresh herb, and just a whiff of toasty oak all intermingle on the nose and in the juicy, bright, flavors. The flavors are more than “serious” enough to make this a great companion for roast lamb but the texture and soft tannins are generous enough to sip with anything from grilled chicken to pizza. And a dozen bottles in their branded wood case make an impressive Holiday gift for any wine lover on your list! - Alto Tierruca Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2010 Product #24407 (In Stock)

-
One of the best values around today. The Alto Tierruca is a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc that comes from the Lontue Valley, an area that receives plenty of warm sunshine and cool Pacific Breezes. The wine a crisp refreshing white wine, with notes of tropical fruit, lemon, and minerlity. The wine goes well with many lighter fare dishes, as well as with spiced up Asian cuisine.

The Mont Pellier Viognier is one of the most delicious values in the store! The wine is a crisp refreshing alternative to people looking for a fun dry white wine. - Knipser Clarette Rose Trocken Pfalz 2010 Product #24582 (In Stock)
-
-
Having southeast Asian takeout, salads, or any kind of summer food that includes lots of fresh herbs and vegetables? You've just found your new favorite rose! I tried this the other night with a stir-fried dish with Vietnamese seasonings, asparagus, and cilantro - all elements that are considered difficult to pair with wine - and this rose of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from Germany's Pfalz region did beautifully. Like many German wines, this has so much bright, lively acidity that it almost feels spritzy on the palate, but it is completely dry. Aromas of fresh red fruits like strawberry and rhubarb emerge on the nose along with intriguing green, herbal notes. Refreshing, crisp, and very easy to drink.
- Castle Rock Chardonnay Central Coast 2010 Product #24822 (In Stock)
-
-
We’ve sold this wine for years as a rock-solid, party-friendly, bottle of value Chardonnay for folks who want bright, juicy, Chardonnay flavors with just a touch of French oak. But, the 2010 vintage of this old favorite steps up the concentration, quality, and flavor a lot – even as the price has plunged (at least for now!). This is 100% Chardonnay grown in relatively cool vineyards in California’s Central Coast region. Warm days deliver full ripeness while cool nights and mornings preserve plenty of vibrant acidity. And – a rarity for Cali Chards in this price range – 100% barrel fermentation and aging adds a surprisingly sophisticated touch of savory oak as well.
The show opens with clear, bright, aromas of fresh cut apple, melon, green pineapple and the barest hint of wood. In the mouth the flavors are bright and fresh with pineapple, citrus, and apple fruit framed by a touch of creamy vanilla. There’s good length here as juicy, citrusy, acidity wells up at the end and just a bit of wood tannin providing support. A fine cocktail sipper but also ready to shine with a wide range of foods. - Encostas Do Douro Palestra Douro 2008 Product #25168 (In Stock)
-
-
Here’s another great example of the value you can find in dry reds from Portugal’s Douro Valley. Encostas do Douro’s vineyards are perched in the steep hills of the Baixo-Corgo sub-region in the heart of Port country. The wine is made from traditional Port grapes - Tinta Franca, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), and Tinta Barroca – and fermented with natural Port yeasts in stainless steel and traditional stone lagares.
The result is a dry but rich and lush wine loaded with ripe black plum, raspberry, and a touch of red currant fruit. A touch of new oak adds spice and a hint of fresh herb, and the juicy acidity and whip of fine tannin give plenty of structure and freshness against the rich, sweet, fruit. Soft enough for party sipping, structured enough for roasted meats, and even able to improve for another 5 years or so. A delicious, compelling, value!“Plum pudding and dark cherry flavors are joined by mocha and chocolate. Medium-grained tannins support minerally notes on the spicy finish. Drink now through 2016.”Wine Spectator 89 points

- Chilensis Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Product #25401 (In Stock)
-
-
This is a big "bang for the buck" Cabernet from Chile that reminds you how Chile first established its global reputation for top quality Cab at rock-bottom prices. Fruit for this wine grows near Chile’s Coastal Mountain range in the Colchagua Valley. Daytime high temperatures can reach 98 degrees here, but cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean cool the fruit at night to preserve freshness and acidity.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon delivers plenty of classic Cabernet fruit – currant, plum, and blackberries. It also display's Chile's trademark whiff of herbs and some appealing tobacco aromas, giving the wine more complexity than you’d expect at this price. In the mouth, it’s juicy and satisfying, with an extra dose of black raspberry and currant fruit. The juicy acids keep everything in balance and make this a flexible companion with a wide range of foods. - Chilensis Reserva Pinot Noir 2010 Product #25565 (In Stock)

-
Here’s a surprise – a value-priced Pinot Noir that’s a) from Chile; and b) really tastes like Pinot Noir! And, very, very, fine value!

A soft, velvety Shiraz that is one of the easier drinking wines out of Australia. The wine has aromas of dark cherry and blue berries. The palate has delicious flavors of cracked black pepper and dark strawberries, with hints of spiced vanilla and reduced raspberries. A GREAT barbecue wine.
