A textbook Amontillado of great maturity. This sherry is full-bodied and dry with delightfully soft nutty flavors. Its palate gives a hint of wood and smoky raisins. Ideally served as an aperitif at room temperature, it is perfect as an aperitif or with tapas.
- Boissiere Vermouth Dry Product #3817 (In Stock)
-
-
Vermouth is an aromatic wine, made from a neutral, dry white basic wine which is then blended with an infusion. The infusion, which gives each vermouth its unique and distinctive character, is created by flavoring the basic wine with a special selection of herbs, flowers, fruit peels, seeds, plants and other botanicals. The addition of brandy fortifies the vermouth to 18% alcohol by volume. The prized and closely guarded recipe is used to make Boissiere has not changed since 1854.
Infused with select botanicals such as elderflower, chamomile and coriander, Boissiere is recognized for its floral and herbal aromas and refined palate. Add ice and drink it "neat" or mix it in to make the perfect martini!
- Izidro Rainwater Madeira Nv Product #22793 (In Stock)
-
-
Perfect as an apéritif or after dinner drink, and useful in many recipes as well. Madeira comes in two forms, dry or sweet, and both are thick, concentrated and fragrant. There is just the slightest hint of residual sweetness in this Rainwater. Once opened, Madeira can be kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks with little if any change in its complex aromatics and flavors, making it the perfect alternative to Port to keep around for those times when you just want 'a little something.'
- Oddero Moscato d'Asti 2011 Product #26730 (In Stock)

Too new for a review, but one of the best Moscato d’Asti wines we’ve tasted this year. A small production, hand-crafted, Moscato from high-altitude vineyards and 15-20 year-old vines. Fermented naturally in small steel fermenters to retain it's natural frothy fizz, it's bursting with aromas and flavors of peach, pear and apricot. Wonderful acidity, nicely sweet, and low in alcohol - a great end to a fine meal or fun on its own anytime!

Classic Sauternes flavors that won't break the bank! The aromas feature candied pineapple and lemon with a hint of creme caramel. - Rozes Porto White Reserve NV Product #25066 (In Stock)
-
-
First, yes - this is a full 750ml bottle! It's also a fascinating take on white Port. Because the white wine aged in wood for 8 years, this drinks like a fantastically vibrant, youthful, tawney Port. Full of dried apricot and raisin fruit and lightly caramelized walnut and almond flavors, it's lightly sweet and super long on the palate. Delicous!

- Maydie Tannat Dessert Wine 2009 Product #25796 (In Stock)
-
-
This sweet wine from Southwestern France is made with hand-picked Tannat grapes allowed to semi-dry on the vine. The wine is rich and dense, with ample black currant and black cherry fruit framed by notes of chocolate and spice cake. Complex and medium sweet, this would be a great match with anything made with dark chocolate.

-
An utterly captivating bottle of tangy, caramel-inflected, wine made from air-dried Erbaluce grapes in Italy's Canavese region. As the folks from JancisRobinson.com said, "Coppery golden. Sweet dried fruit and fig nose. Intensely sweet, almost embryotic. Intense sweet palate. Very young, very luscious, with hints of orange marmalade. Well-integrated oak. Complete." - Mas Estela Just Dolc Negre (500ml) Product #25259 (In Stock)
-
-
Here’s a wildly delicious sweet red from one of our favorite artisanal producers in Catalonia. This is 100% old vine Black Garnacha, organically grown and harvested late for super ripeness. After fermentation (which leaves plenty of sugar), the wine seeps on its skins for 60+ days and then ages for a year in glass demi-johns – outside in the sun, wind, and cold. The result is a lush mouthful of crushed black raspberry fruit with plenty of coffee and cocoa accents and a finish that goes on forever.
- Broadbent Colheita Madeira 1996 Product #21462 (In Stock)
-
-
A magnificent, nutty and lightly sweet, Madeira with a classic bite and salty tang at the end. Beautiful with cheese or nuts or caramel desserts. Because Madeira is already oxidized and "cooked," it's more or less indestructible. Open a bottle, leave it on the counter, and enjoy over months (or longer!).
"The 1996 Colheita was aged in oak casks for five years and then bottled. It has a very well-defined bouquet of dried figs, lemon rind, dried herbs and a touch of dates that soar from first opening and continue to bloom over several hours. The palate is fresh and lively. This is a more feminine Colheita with a crisp thread of acidity: lovely touches of marmalade and orange rind counterbalancing its viscous texture. It exhibits impressive cohesion and linearity to create a Colheita that has intent and purpose, full of energy and race."Wine Advocate 93 points
- Quinta Dona Matilde Vintage Port 2007 Product #26547 (In Stock)
-
-
The Barros family has been famous for it's vintage Port since the 1920s, but they sold their estates in 2006. Now, the family has bought back their formal home estate and is making classic vintage Port once again. From the outstanding 2007 vintage, this elegant Vintage Port is loaded with dark fruit, chocolate, and spice notes. Sweet in the mid-palate, dry and clean on the finish, and loaded with minerality and fine tannins. Age it for 20 years or drink it tonight after a brief decant.
- Quinta Dona Matilde Porto Colheita 2001 Product #26521 (In Stock)
-
-
"Colheita" means a single-vintage Tawny port, and this one is a beauty. Medium-sweet and nutty with hints of red fruit, caramel, and toasted nuts, this hand-crafted wine is super elegant and complex and finishes long and nutty. Try it cool on it's own or with everything from Stilton cheese, candied nuts, or - one of my favorites - pecan pie!
- Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2009 375 Ml Product #24683 (In Stock)
-
-
Usually my personal favorite of the line-up (although 2007 Fonseca is pretty impressive!), the 2009 Taylor Fladgate delivers the Bordeaux-like elegance and class it's known for. On the nose black fruit with notes of raspberry and plum and hints of graphite and cedar. The flavors stay black with currant and cherry appearing plus dark licorice root, apple skin, and more graphite. The deep flavors stay over top of the firm, grippy, mouth-coating tannins that keep everything focused and almost elegant (if such a big wine can be elegant). Love it.
"Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark."Wine Advocate 95 points
