Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Shiraz 2012 Product #30485 (In Stock)
Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Shiraz 2012 Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Shiraz 2012

"Smoky cherry and blackcurrant aromas are sharpened and lifted by a peppery quality and a hint of candied flowers. Supple and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and a touch of olive that becomes stronger with air. Finishes with echoing blue fruit and olive notes, good length and just a whisper of tannins."  Vinous (Reynolds)  88 points

Wits End Luna Shiraz 2013 Product #30604 (In Stock)
Wits End Luna Shiraz 2013 Wits End Luna Shiraz 2013

The winery is called Chalk Hill at home, but has to go by Wits End here.  Nothing confusing about this rich but nicely balanced Shiraz, though!  Dark plum and blackberry fruit gets complexity from accents of leather, smoke, roasted meat and soy notes.  Full-bodied and fleshy, this has the intensity and gamey/meaty character to shine with lamb but it's soft and supple enough to just sip.

Pewsey Vale Riesling 2015 Product #30067 (In Stock)
Pewsey Vale Riesling 2015 Pewsey Vale Riesling 2015

Is this the greatest bone-dry Riesling in the world?  It's in the running, but it runs away with "best value" honors in the category and may hold the record for the most 90+ point ratings.  Intense lemon-lime, chalk, and floral herb aromas lead to a sizzling, dry, palate of yellow-green citrus, ginger, white pepper, peach, and more.  Finishes stony, long, and bone dry with a lingering touch of honeysuckle and lime zest.  Brilliant stuff.

Fox Creek Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2012 Product #29509 (In Stock)
Fox Creek Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2012 Fox Creek Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2012

Nice juicy character the the ripe fruit with smoky accents.  Very good value here.

"Exotic, expansive aromas of black and blue fruit preserves, vanilla and cola, along with a peppery overtone and a hint of violet pastille. Broad, fleshy, appealingly sweet boysenberry and cherry liqueur flavors show excellent depth and a seamless texture. Finishes juicy and long, with building spiciness, an echo of blue fruit and round tannins."  Vinous (Josh Reynolds) 91 points

"Fine tannins swarm around a lithe core of blueberry, dark plum and savory flavors. Earthy nuances linger on the finish. This has intensity and grace. Drink now through 2017. 500 cases made."Wine Spectator 89 points

Not sure what the name means, but this 96/4% blend of co-fermented Shiraz/Viognier is powerful and pure. Grill something.

"Lively scents of blueberry, blackberry, cassis and anise, with complicating floral and cracked pepper nuances. Silky, sweet and pliant, displaying good clarity and lift to its dark fruit and spicecake flavors. Quite expressive now, finishing with soft tannins and good spicy persistence."  Vinous (Reynolds) 90 points

Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache Barossa 2014 Product #30771 (In Stock)

From 50-100 year-old vines, this is always one of Australia's very best Grenache values.

"High-pitched aromas of fresh red berries, candied rose, blood orange and white pepper; smells a lot like an elegant Pinot Noir to me. Clean, racy and vibrant on the palate, with the redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors conveying a weightless quality. Spicy, brisk and gently tannic on the clinging finish. This distinctly graceful wine is extremely easy to drink now but it should age nicely on its balance. These vines were reportedly planted between 1898 and 1973."  Vinous (Reynolds) 90 points

"Pale garnet colored with a hint of purple, the 2014 Grenache Old Bush Vine offers enticing red cherry and raspberry preserves notes accented with suggestions of cinnamon stick, orange peel, red roses and white pepper. Medium-bodied and beautifully delicate in the mouth, it sure doesn't scrimp on the flavor, filling the palate with warm red berries and baking spice cushioned with soft tannins and finishing with great length."Wine Advocate 90+ points
