- Anton Bauer Gruner Veltliner Gmork 2011 Product #25281 (In Stock)
-
-
The 2011 Gmork actually has a bit more minerality than the Three Star 2009 did along with a touch better richness and definition. Even fresh off the boat in November, 2011, The Post could already see the quality: “The Anton Bauer Gmörk has been one of my favorite bargain whites for years; this vintage arrives early because Austria experienced a warm growing season with an early harvest. The wine offers delicate aromas of white flowers and orange blossom, and limpid minerality. It should develop a bit more complexity over the next few months. Three Stars."
We agree with importer Klaus Wittenaur: “Best Gmörk to date!! This is what good GV should taste like. Aromatic on the nose, a beautiful play of perfume, apple, tropical fruit and acidity. All the aromas follow through on the palate and then the wine has a dry clean finish with a touch of white pepper. There is no other single vineyard Grüner on the market that can beat this taste and price-best value!!!" Grab a case or two now at this special price and enjoy it all spring and summer long with crunchy salad, crisp garden vegetables, grilled sausages, or even fried chicken. - Paul D Gruner Veltliner 2012 1.0l Product #27009 (In Stock)

In the intense 2012 vintage, this is the best release yet from young winemaker Paul Direder. A golden straw color with delightful aromas of stone fruits and spice. Jam-packed with extract and flavor kept fresh by vibrant, intense, minerality and acids. Crazy value at $10.99 - especially in a one liter bottle that's big enough to share at a party!
- Steininger Gruner Veltliner "Classic" Kamptal 2011 Product #25825 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a wonderfully vibrant Gruner Veltliner that's full of fresh green pea, tangy apple, and white pepper aromas and flavors. Plenty of concentration here supported by tingly acidity and a long, mineral-driven, finish. It’s a “wow wine” at a silly price. You’d pay $25 or more for a wine of this quality from a bigger importer. Direct to us (and you!) from Klaus and it’s a steal!
- Hillinger Secco NV Product #20714 (In Stock)
-
-
Gently sparkling with fine fruit: that's the Hillinger Secco, the winery's light pink creation of 100% Pinot Noir grapes. This is easily the best (and most dry) release yet. Pretty in the glass and loaded with aromas and flavors of tangy strawberry, cranberry and cherry fruit. Juicy and refreshingly dry on the tangy finish, this would be a great brunch or warm afternoon drink!
- Strauss Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Product #27186 (In Stock)
-
-
A stunning bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, more California than New Zealand or French in style. The aromas explode with super ripe grapefruit and tangerine fruit with a big squeeze of sweet lime. In the mouth, brimming with ripe orchard and citrus fruit and a dash of mineral. Long, energetic and mouthwatering, this lingers nicely on the finish where just a hint of fresh grass emerges. Excellent Sauv Blanc and fine value.
- Steininger Riesling Kamptal 2010 Product #25860 (In Stock)
-
-
Here we mostly know Steininger for its classic Gruner Veltliners, but they also make a fabulous dry Riesling. Its aromas showcase the tropical side of this versatile grape: mango, starfruit, papaya and citrus, with a hint of nutmeg spiciness and white flowers. Dry and a bit richer than most German Rieslings, but with the same crackling acidity, this would be fabulous with a spicy tuna roll or Vietnamese food.
- Hillinger Hillside 2009 Product #26202 (In Stock)
-
-
An unusual but utterly delicious blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Zweigelt, and 10% Merlot from Austrian virtuoso Leo Hillinger. Juicy and soft with round blackberry/black raspberry fruit with hints of dark floral and dark chocolate. The kind of soft and easy sipping red you'll open for most any occasion, but there's a sneaky whip of tannin buried at the end, making this a great grilling red.

So, what happens when you take a great still wine – in this case, the 2009 Grüner Veltliner Classic – and give it a little fizz? Pure joy ensues!
Steininger is Kamptal’s top producer of sparkling wines and one of the very best in all of Austria. The family specializes in single varietal, single vintage, fizz that showcases the character of the grape and growing season. The 2010 Grüner Veltliner Sekt is a beauty, at once creamy and full of classic Grüner fruit and terrifically dry and vibrant. The in-bottle secondary fermentation delivers plenty of fizz, but this still reads “Grüner” with bright apple, green pea, and white pepper notes. Easy to sip on its own and fun to pair with savory sausage or freshwater fish. - Heidi Schrock Furmint Burgenland 2011 Product #26578 (In Stock)

We'll let importer Terry Theise tell you about this beauty: "I sometimes think if I had to select just one wine from my entire portfolio that would express why I do this and what I believe in, it would be this one. 8.82 hectares in all of Austria — Heidi has 10% of them — reintroduced after having vanished by a small coterie of loyal idealists, difficult to grow, late-ripening and high acidity, and a subtle searching flavor that so perfectly expresses the sad sweetness of late Autumn. The stubborn fragrant quince, the little divinity-crystals in the pear, the low honey-sun, all there in these wines. And this usually bashful wine is like a 21-gun salute in ‘11. A swoon of fragrance, dizzy whirling galaxies of complex sweetness; linden blossom concentrate; the palate is mint and salt and pepper, steel and stones and the vapor-echo of that sweet aroma; serpentine and somewhere beyond “expressive,” out in its graceful orbit in the smooth warm ether of beauty.
