- Ch Sainte Eulalie Rose Minervois 2012 Product #27059 (In Stock)

From an estate first planted in the 19th century and then resurrected by young Isabelle & Laurent Causta in 1996, this beauty fully captures the potential of what should be Provence's top rose region. From vineyards in the heart of Minervois, this blend of Syrah and Cinsault with dashes of Carignan and Grenache is plenty gutsy but also crisp and fresh. Vivid strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry fruit with a clear whiff of fresh herb and lingering, juicy, dry, finish. Great wine for roast chicken, salads, or cold meats.
- Chapoutier Bila Haut Cotes Du Roussillon Rose 2012 Product #27056 (In Stock)

-
Northern Rhone master Michel Chapoutier's Roussillon estate - Bila-Haut - has been going from strength to strength the past few years, and this little beauty certainly argues that the positive trend will continue in 2012! It's a blend of Grenache and Cinsault grown specifically for rosé, crushed, macerated briefly, and then pressed off while still pink and made in stainless steel. A slightly more robust and jolly take on pink wine than you find in Provence, it delivers a big mouthful of candied watermelon and tangy cherry fruit with mouthwatering acidity and a sense of hot paving stone. A not too serious, very tasty, rosé to enjoy in the shade with veggies and grilled lamb dipped in lots of garlicky aioli.

This huge customer favorite is, once again, a classic rosé blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, attractively packaged in the traditional curvy Provencal rose bottle. Concentrated and intensely juicy, it's packed with dried berry, cherry, and red currant fruit with accents of glazed white peach and nectarine. Dry and crisp, it finishes with a big burst of creamy fruit flavors an just a touch of fresh herb and mineral. Give it a light chill and enjoy on its own or with salads or grilled poultry. Lovely stuff!
- Dom Philippe Plantevin Cotes Du Rhone Rose 2012 Product #27136 (In Stock)

Just in time for warmer weather, here’s the first release of Philippe’s pink wine we’ve ever managed to get our hands on. Unusually for a rosé from this part of the Rhone valley, it’s 90% Mourvedre (made famous by Domaine Tempier and other Bandol estates) and just 10% Grenache. Lovely dark pink in color, the generous aromas feature bright cherry, passion fruit, and wild herb scents. Bright and zesty in the mouth, the flavors include wild strawberry, more passion fruit, ripe citrus, fresh herb and just a touch of earthy Mourvedre character. Pure and clean throughout, it finishes with mouthwatering flavors of watermelon, berry, and a dash of pink grapefruit and mineral. A great solo sipper and even better with fresh salads, smoked salmon, or anything with plenty of savory herb and garlic.

A fabulous little rose sparkler made of 75% Prosecco and 25% Pinot Noir, perfect for the dog days of summer! Aromas of strawberries, peaches, and a hint of almond. Great, mouthwatering acidity and a much more sophisticated finish than we expected at this price.
Perfect as an aperitif - whets your appetite in the most delightful way! - Dom Du Dragon Grande Cuvee Rose Cotes De Provence 2012 Product #27058 (In Stock)

The best vintage ever for this long-time favorite? We think so! You'll find all the layered complexity you expect here as zesty aromas and flavors of strawberry, redcurrant, blood orange and chalky mineral chase across your palate. But, there's a touch more concentration and power from the small 2012 harvest and even more drive and cut on the spicy, dry, stony, finish. A classic Provencal rose, well-priced, and perfect for sipping solo or with salmon or Salade Niçoise.
- Mas Llunes Maragda Rosa Costa Brava 2012 Product #27063 (In Stock)

A bit gutsier than some of our other rosés this year, but still refreshing and delicious! A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah from Spain's Costa Brava, the seacoast where Spain and France meet. Ripe fruit is harvested at night (to keep it cool and retain freshness), given a 24 hour soak, and then fermented cool in tank. The result is a pretty, bright strawberry-colored, rosé with a creamy, rich, texture. Juicy ripe strawberry and cherry fruit take center stage here with plenty of fresh fruit acidity providing lift and brightness. A tangy note of watermelon candy and citrusy acidity provide length and interest at the end. Great with salty shellfish, cheeses, and - of course - paella!
- Noble Hill Rose Mourvedre 2012 Product #27003 (In Stock)

Ignore the South African origins - this is a dead ringer for (much more expensive) Bandol rosé! Like Bandol, it's 100% Mourvedre picked on the early side and fermented dry in stainless steel. Salmon pink in color, it's loaded with green strawberry, watermelon, and fresh herb aromas and flavors and finishes crisp, dry, and earthy. More than easy to just sip, this will shine with salmon, tuna, or even lamb. A fine, fine, value.
- Dom De Triennes Rose Vdp Du Var Provence 2012 Product #27060 (In Stock)

Here's a Provencal rosé with an unusual pedigree - it's made by two of the biggest names in Burgundy, Jacques Seysses, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. They purchased these steep hillside vineyards just east of Aix-en-Provence in 1989 and have been making benchmark red, white and - of course - rosé ever since!
It's mainly Cinsault with dashes of Syrah, Grenache, and a tiny bit of Merlot, sustainably grown and direct pressed after a short maceration. From beginning to end, "purity" is the theme here as delineated aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry, and tangy raspberry fruit gain complexity from notes of wild herb and flower petal. The herbal/garrigue notes get stronger in he glass before the wine finishes with fine snap and bite. Classy, complex and detailed, this will shine with spring/summer picnic foods or anything laced with cilantro.
