- Baracchi O'lillo Toscana 2013 Product #29314 (In Stock)
Fruit comes from three different vineyards: San Martino at 300 meters (where the winery is located), Gabbiano (closer to Montepulciano and excellent for Syrah and Cabernet), and Montanare (where Sangiovese and Merlot grow on hills fought over by Romans and Carthaginians during the Punic Wars). The grapes are hand harvested and given gentle fermentations in neutral oak vats before aging in tank and bottling early to preserve fresh fruit and vibrant acids.
As with the 92 point 2012 edition, this is once again a super-steal of a super-Tuscan red. Broad-shouldered and powerful, it pumps out black cherry, blackberry, and black plum fruit with generous does of warm spice and expensive leather. The dark fruit and spice fan out on the satisfying, long, finish.
