- Dom Weinbach Pinot Blanc Reserve 2014 Product #30320 (In Stock)
A perfect wine to enjoy with rich, pre-dinner, treats (warm crab dip anyone?) as well as at the table with everything from white fish to ham. Lovely Anjou pear and Crispin apple aromas with just a twist of lemon peel. Then flavors of rich autumn pear and golden apple fruit with a dusting of lime zest supported by plenty of stony mineral. The texture stays rich and generous even as the citrus acidity makes your mouth water and a savory, stony note lingers on and on. Catherine Faller suggested this as a match for a big plate of Alsace sausages, but the same bright acidity, ripe fruit, and savory finish make this delicious on its own, too.
"The 2014 Pinot Blanc Réserve is an assemblage of 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc from the bottom of Altenbourg. Intensely fruity and crisp, with ripe yellow apple aromas, Granny Smith and some lemon flavors, the wine opens very clear and precise on the nose. Full-bodied and round on the palate, this is a very elegant and well balanced, fruit intense Pinot with a nice grip, freshness and an aromatic finish. Some stimulating salinity here as well."Wine Advocate 88 points
