- Patricia Green Pinot Noir Reserve 2013 Product #29973 (In Stock)
There are plenty of $40+ Willamette Valley Pinots that don’t give as much pleasure and finesse as this outstanding value. This is one of only two multi-vineyard blends Patty makes (the other is her barrel selection Nortorious), and it’s made from barrels that didn’t quite work for the single-vineyard wines.
The 2013 opens with dark, spicy, aromas of black cherry, sweet raspberry, and layers of baking spice and crushed stone. On the palate it’s light, fresh, and full of sweet cherry/berry fruit with hints of herb, smoke, earth, and more. The interplay between dark and red fruit and smoky spice flows on through a fine finish where silky tannins give support and bright acids add lift and refreshment. Utterly delicious and fun to drink right now although there’s certainly no rush.
"Fresh red berries, rose oil and peppery spices on the perfumed nose. Lithe and focused, displaying good depth to its zesty raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a smoky nuance emerging with aeration. Closes fresh and long, with a suave blood orange note and silky tannins that sneak in late." Vinous (Reynolds) 90 points
