A spicy, ripe, Malbec that will work well at table or on it's own. It's 100% Malbec pleasure with almost no wood influence. Pretty aromas of black berries, spice, lavender and red licorice lead to smooth, rich, flavors of blackberry and blueberry and a lash of coffee and smoky spice. An easy drinker that has just a bit more going on than you'd expect for the price. Bet this would sing with steak rubbed with coffee and ancho chile!

Made from the grapes of 102 year old vines planted in the foothills of the Andes. - Angulo Innocenti Cabernet Sauvignon La Consulta 2011 Product #27168 (In Stock)
-
-
No question: this is less "serious" than Mariano Innocenti's 2011 Malbec, but, boy, is it fun to drink! Fresh, generous, aromas of currant, herb and spice mingle with notes of blackberry and tangy cherry in the mouth. A licorice root note gives this a little complexity, but not too much - this juicy, clean, and bright Cabernet is meant to enjoy with friends and a nice, fresh, burger.
"Lively aromas of cassis, black cherry, minerals and licorice. Supple on entry, then fine-grained and a bit less pliant in the middle, with dark berry and licorice flavors enlivened by minerality. Finishes firmly tannic but not dry or hard."International Wine Cellar 88 points
- Bodega Benegas Malbec Estate 2010 Product #26475 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's what Mendoza Malbec is all about. From organic vineyards and older vines, this opens with a pure perfume of plum and raspberry fruit with floral and spice accents. Round and complexly textured and flavored in the mouth, the fruit stays in the front with accents of stone, coffee, and cocoa. Long and lingering finish over the sweet, ripe, tannins. Excellent value.
- Catena Malbec Mendoza 2010 Product #25698 (In Stock)
-
-
These guys just don't do anything wrong. The new release of Catena Malbec is sure to wrack up another 91 point or higher rating - something it's done for 5 straight vintages now. As usual, loaded with blackberry, red currant, licorice, violet and pepper in a creamy, richly, textured wine that finishes with velvety tannins. Great bottle of Malbec.
- Felino Vina Cobos (Paul Hobbs) Cabernet Sauvingon 2011 Product #26233 (In Stock)
-
-
As Wine Advocate says, Paul Hobbs’s “Felino label has for a number of years been synonymous with value.” Another fine vintage for this big, lush, Argentine Cabernet that’s jam-packed with black fruit, chocolate, spice, and tobacco aromas and flavors. Lush and plush and nicely concentrated, this is great with a steak or just to sip.
- Catena Chardonnay Mendoza 2011 Product #26406 (In Stock)
-
-
As always, this is a fresh bottle of Chardonnay with crisp apple, green melon and Bosc pear fruit with a touch of baking spice. Juicy and showing less wood than in the past, it finishes with a touch of flint and lots of clean, juicy, fruit.
"There are notable changes in the approach of the 2011 Catena Chardonnay compared to previous vintages: 40% malolactic instead of 100%, a move to Mercurey barrels instead of Francois Freres, a reduction from 50% new oak to 20%. This vintage was also harvested 20 days earlier. It is a blend of three vineyards that are divided into lots at harvest. It is whole cluster pressed and aged for ten months in French oak. It demonstrates great clarity on the nose with scents of dried honey, linden, crushed stone and dried white flowers. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity and is a taut, focused Chardonnay with lively notes of tangerine and quince towards the finish. This is well-crafted and complex for its price point. Drink now-2016."Wine Advocate 90 points
- Angulo Innocenti Malbec La Consulta 2011 Product #27169 (In Stock)
-
-
In just his second vintage, Mariano Innocenti has hit a home run, turning out a Malbec that combines everything we love about this grape in one delicious (and great value) bottle. The aromas are dark, even a bit brooding, at first with building aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and mocha. Then ripe, bright, and juicy on the palate with boatloads of gorgeous blackberry, black plum, and currant fruit accented by notes of spice, mineral, and berry blossom. Stays vibrant and juicy on the bright, clean, finish with currant and cherry flavors lingering nicely. Aging half the wine in used oak barrels allowed this to open up without gaining any heavy oak accents and leaves it perfectly positioned for anything from steaks on the grill to party sipping.
"Inky yet superfresh, with floral and spice accents to the chewy plum skin, raspberry and blueberry coulis fruit. Drink now through 2016." Wine Spectator 91 points
- Bodegas Monteviejo Gran Monteviejo 2007 Product #26843 (In Stock)
-
-
Here, Malbec is firmly on center stage (70% of the blend) with Syrah giving a meaty note and Merlot a touch more perfume and tannin. Bigger, bolder, and more complex than the Petite Fleur, this wants grilled or roasted lamb or beef right now and will gain even more complexity and meaty, smoky, character over the next few years. A winner.
“Bright saturated ruby. Cassis, black raspberry and sweet mocha oak on the nose. Lush and supple on entry, then concentrated and bound-up in the mid-palate, with a medicinal cast to the black cherry, licorice and chocolatey oak flavors. Finishes with substantial, broad tannins that coat the teeth.”International Wine Cellar 90 points
“The 2007 Gran Monteviejo is composed of 70% Malbec, 20% Syrah, and 10% Merlot. Deep purple in color, it displays a nose of pain grille, pencil lead, roasted black fruits, violets, and exotic spices. This leads to an elegant wine with already complex flavors, exceptional concentration, and 2-3 years of aging potential. This impeccably balanced, pleasure-bent effort will be at its peak from 2012 to 2023.”Wine Advocate 92 points
