- Siduri Pinot Noir Sonoma County 2012 Product #27751 (In Stock)
Adam and Dianna Lee make a dozen (or more!) Pinot's from across California, all highly rated and many quite expensive. This is their "everyday" Pinot Noir from Sonoma County, a rich, ripe, and round expression of Pinot Noir that delivers a mouthful of spicy red berry fruit without getting heavy or sweet. A touch of cranberry on the ripe finish where woodsmoke, fresh earth, and mocha notes add complexity.
- Mossback Cabernet Sauvignon Chalk Hill 2010 Product #27953 (In Stock)
The Chalk Hill AVA in the northeastern corner of the Russian River Valley includes only a half-dozen wineries - most famously Chalk Hill Winery - and about 1,600 acres of vineyard. A warm thermal belt running along the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains and a unique, chalky-appearing soil (actually decomposed volcanic ash) make this one of Sonoma's best sites for Chardonnay and Bordeaux varietals.
Normally, you'd expect to pay $40+ for handmade Cabernet from Chalk Hill, but the folks at Mossback have somehow figured out how to deliver 100% Chalk Hill quality at about 50% of the price! A classic style, with aromas of dark cherry and currant fruit complemented by notes of vanilla, licorice, crushed herb and baking spice. Rich but with a juicy lift, the flavors stay focused on black cherry and currant, dark chocolate, and macerated blackberry. Plenty of grip and focused acidity support a long, lingering, finish. Great steak wine with a fine future in front of it!
