Ch Marie Du Fou Blanc 2013 Product #28463 (In Stock)
Ch Marie Du Fou Blanc 2013 Ch Marie Du Fou Blanc 2013

From the seldom-seen Fiefs Vendeens Mareuil AOC - although you can see several examples from the Mourat family here because we've simply fallen in love with these wines!  Just a dozen miles inland from the Atlantic and a bit south of Muscadet, both Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay seem to ripen nicely here while retaining fine acidity and a touch of minerality, too.  You'll find both those grapes here (70% Chenin) with a touch of oak from fermentation in 5 year-old barrels.  Layers of wonderful complexity to the waxy white fruit - peach, white apricot, plum - along with green melon and Granny Smith apple.  Sophisticated in texture and on the long, intense, finish where salty mineral and crushed herb flavors linger.  An exciting wine that gets more fascinating the longer you drink it.

Dom Regis Cruchet Vouvray Sec 2011 Product #26791 (In Stock)
Dom Regis Cruchet Vouvray Sec 2011 Dom Regis Cruchet Vouvray Sec 2011

A fantastic bottle of Chenin Blanc that teeters brilliantly on the border between "sec" and "demi-sec".  Complex and captivating aromas of waxy asian pear and herb honey open things up.  Then, juicy on the entry and explosive flavors of pear, apple, flowers, and a touch of spice that gain richness from a hint of sweetness before the acids break through and deliver a dry, crisp, finish.  Very complex with deep flavors and excellent acids.

This lively, bone-dry Chenin Blanc is a wonderful example of the huge range of styles possible from this grape.  Aromas of pithy fresh lemon and a bit of Chenin's signature wet wool give way to flavors of meyer lemon, fresh apricot, and racy acidity that make your mouth water!  Perfect for spring salads, light seafood dishes, and fresh goat cheese, this is sunshine in a bottle.

Dom Des Baumard Savennieres 2010 Dom Des Baumard Savennieres 2010

Savennieres, just across the river from the sweet wine region of Cote du Layon, is one of world's greatest sites for rich, wildly complex, and utterly dry Chenin Blanc.  This is a brilliant introduction to the delights of Savennieres, bursting with waxy peach fruit and finishing with complex minerality.

"A bright, engaging style, exhibiting fresh-cut Anjou pear, green almond, fig and brioche notes laced with a hint of butter. Offers a long, pure, honeysuckle-filled finish."Wine Spectator 91 points

Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011 Product #28429 (In Stock)
Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011 Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011

A brilliant late-harvest Chenin that crackles with energy - drink with almond desserts or on it's own.

"This selection of grapes from old vines is presented as the least sweet and the lightest of Baumard\'s late-harvest wines. It\'s clean and dynamic, a heady, layered chenin with scents of jasmine, orange and apple butter. The juiciness comes up against soil-inflected acidity, a fine, sandy grit to ameliorate the sweetness. Pour it with a savory almond torte."Wine & Spirits 93 points

"The acidity is almost shocking, cutting through the richness of the wine. Its sweet apple and lemon flavors balance the honey and maple syrup notes. The wine is still young, demanding aging over a decade at least. beautifully ripe. Screwcap." Wine Enthusiast 92 points
