Ch Montelena Sauvignon Blanc Napa 2014 Product #29705 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Sauvignon Blanc Napa 2014 Ch Montelena Sauvignon Blanc Napa 2014

Sauvignon Blanc is a relatively new venture for classic producer Ch Montelena, but they've gotten the hang of it pretty fast!  The warm, slightly spicy aromas of oak meld nicely here with tropical fruit, pineapple, and citrus.  The oak lends a creamy texture, while bright acidity keeps the finish nice and clean.  Perfect for solo sipping or seafood.

The Judgement of Paris winner shines again!

"White flowers, apples, pears and spices all meld together in a gracious, impeccable Chardonnay. The 2012 is beautifully bright and focused, yet also has plenty of textural richness and layers of flavor. I especially like the nuance and detail in the 2012. This is a fabulous showing from Montelena. "  Antonio Galloni 92 points

"You know you’re doing something right when, after 45 years of Chardonnay winemaking, they name a California Chardonnay style after your winery, the “Montelena style.” In short, it means a non-malolactic, minimally oaked Chardonnay. This estate has long made one of the best examples of a quiet, restrained Chardonnay that ages for 20 or more years. Montelena’s 2012 Chardonnay possesses zesty acidity as well as hints of white currants, delicate wood, tangerine oil and spice. Long and zesty with no noticeable oak (despite its barrel aging), it should drink well for 10-15 years."Wine Advocate 90+ points

Another fine vintage for this stylish Napa classic.

"Bright red-ruby. At once riper and more medicinal on the nose than the 2011, offering aromas of plum syrup, blueberry and spices. Firm and nicely refined, with an attractive juicy quality to the black fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with rather suave tannins. This cuvee seems to be better than ever, as Bo Barrett has done a good job of leavening the concentrated, black mountain fruit with the softer tannins of cabernet from the valley floor."  Vinous (Steve Tanzer) 89-90 points
