Ch Montelena Potter Valley Riesling 2011 Product #27184 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Potter Valley Riesling 2011 Ch Montelena Potter Valley Riesling 2011

The 2011 Riesling arrived at the winery fuzzy with noble rot, and you find the classic aromas of honey and chamomile here in spades. Round and fleshy on the palate with lime, apricot, and golden apple fruit and more herbed honey notes, a refreshing minerality builds on the long, dry, finish. Distinctive and limited.

Ch Montelena Zinfandel Estate 2010 Product #26969 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Zinfandel Estate 2010 Ch Montelena Zinfandel Estate 2010

From the winery famous for California's breakthrough Chardonnay and classic Cab, this is an elegant, almost European, take on Zinfandel.  Aromas of bright plum, boysenberry,  and dried fruit with accents of spice and coconut.  Firm acid and ripe tannins frame blackberry and red-berry fruit with a meaty hint of hoisin and soy.  Notes of walnut and smoked meat hide under the richly fruity, long, finish.

Ch Montelena Chardonnay Napa 2009 Product #24739 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Chardonnay Napa 2009 Ch Montelena Chardonnay Napa 2009

The Chardonnay that won 1976's "Judgement of Paris" and made famous in Bottle Shock shows very well indeed in 2009.  With just 10% new oak and no malolactic fermentation, this is bright and crisp with notes of apple, citrus, mint and licorice.  A bit tight and crisp now, this will develop well over the next 5-8 years.

"(just 10% new oak used; the winery cherry-picked the fruit for this bottling and sold off the rest in bulk): Bright yellow. Lively aromas of apple, citrus fruit, mint and licorice. Juicy and vibrant, with almost painful mid-palate cut. Still youthfully tight, but this no-malo chardonnay displays good underlying density. The persistent finish shows good cut. Clearly the product of a moderately cool growing season. Montelena's chardonnay is vinified to dryness in tank, then ages for several months in 10% new oak, on the fine lees but without stirring. I suspect this will evolve slowly."International Wine Cellar 90 points

Ch Montelena Cabernet Napa 2010 Product #26918 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Cabernet Napa 2010 Ch Montelena Cabernet Napa 2010

This iconic winery first gained fame for it's Chardonnay, but Cabernet remains the Barret family's first love.  This one's a winner!

"A big, mouth filling wine, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, shows the personality of the vintage in its intense fruit. There is plenty of underlying structure in this deep, resonant Cabernet Sauvignon. Mint, flowers and sweet red berries are some of the nuances that are woven into the finish. This is far from an easygoing Napa Cabernet. Although delicious today, it should drink well for a number of years. Another year or so in bottle should help the elements come together even more fully. The 2010 is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024."Wine Advocate 92 points

Ch Montelena Cabernet Estate 2009 Product #26917 (In Stock)
Ch Montelena Cabernet Estate 2009 Ch Montelena Cabernet Estate 2009

A benchmark for great Napa Valley Cabernet.

"Highly perfumed aromas of black cherry and menthol lifted by rose and spice oils. Suave, pure and vibrant, with red berry and spice flavors lifted by a pungent minty quality. Nothing black fruit about this vintage. Finishes with fine-grained, rather silky tannins and terrific energy. Less forbidding at this young stage than many recent vintages of this wine, and in a distinctly food-friendly style. This wine benefited dramatically from its final months in barrel."International Wine Cellar 93 points

"Montelena’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate wraps around the palate with serious depth. Even with all of its intensity, the 2009 has a silkiness that makes it incredibly delicious at this early stage. Red berries, flowers, tobacco and sweet herbs all flesh out on the generous, radiant finish. While many 2009s are a bit tight today, Montelena’s 2009 Estate is showing very nicely, although it is keeping some cards close to the vest. I imagine the 2009 will start to enter its prime drinking window around age 8-10 and drink well for at least another decade beyond that. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029."Wine Advocate 93+ points
