- Dom Du Pegau Plan Pégau Rouge Lot 11-12-13 Product #31345 (In Stock)
A crazy, very old-school, field-blend red from old vines growing outside of Chateauneuf du Pape. 20-30% each of Grenache, Syrah, and Merlot with the balance an unknown combination of Carignan, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Danlas, Alicante and Cabernet Sauvignon. This year's release blends lots from vintages 2011, 2012 and 2013 (see the neck label) to deliver a rich, earthy, almost funky, wine with tons of chewy black pepper and a dark-fruited core.
"Aromas of musky red fruit, candied flowers, cured meat and garrigue take on a smoky mineral element in the glass. Sweet and penetrating, offering juicy raspberry and cherry flavors and a zesty jolt of white pepper. Shows very good intensity and fruity punch on the finish, which is shaped by silky, even tannins."
