Always a favorite, Pajana comes from a slightly warmer vineyard that delivers good ripeness but great acidity as well. Very vivid and pure in 2010 with a stunning finish.
"Good medium red. Less expressive on the nose than the Briccotto, hinting at ripe, musky plum, black raspberry, menthol and tobacco. Then smooth and sweet in the mouth, but with terrific energy keeping the red fruit and tobacco flavors fresh and primary. Sweeter and more elegant in style than the 2009, but this fine-grained, firmly tannic wine really shut down in the glass. Outstanding potential here." International Wine Cellar 94(+?) points

Domenico farms these 40-50 year-old Nebbiolo vines in the Ginestra cru of Monforte d’Alba. At 400 meters altitude and with a south/southeast exposure, this site always give explosive red fruit aromas with notes of licorice and mint. Clerico's most plump, broad and generous Barolo.
"Good full red. Liqueur-like plum and black cherry on the nose. Then fine-grained and classy but tightly wound, showing utterly primary flavors of cherry, red berries and menthol.
