A classically-styled Barolo from the elegant and accessible 2008 vintage, this shows off very typical Nebbiolo perfume of red fruits, tar, and flowers. In the mouth, the wine is graceful and delivers layered flavors of red and black cherries, truffle, rose petal and a touch of tar. The tannins are firm but very smooth, making this a fine Barolo to crack open with mushroom risotto or even beef stew tonight. Or cellar for a decade and let it get even softer and more complex.
