- Monte Degli Angeli Pinot Noir Monferrato 2014 Product #29656 (In Stock)
You've got to be willing to think a bit outside the box to find real, honest, Pinot Noir selling for less than $10 these days. Here we head to Italy's Piemonte region - more famous for Barolo and Barbaresco - to a small family-owned estate run by Brothers Antonio and Paolo Sperone. The climate here is closer to Burgundy than you'd expect, and it lets the Sperones harvest ripe, juicy, Pinot Noir fruit and then give it 6 months in barrel to soften and gain complexity. Black cherry and strawberry fruit hold center stage here with accents of smoke and fresh earth. Juicy in the middle and supported by light, fine, tannin, this is a steal in value Pinot Noir that tastes like...well, Pinot Noir!
