Paitin Arneis Langhe Elisa 2014 Product #29935 (In Stock)
Paitin Arneis Langhe Elisa 2014 Paitin Arneis Langhe Elisa 2014

If this crackling 2014 Piemonte white seems a little zestier, fresher, and more mineral than you'd expect - well, that's what blending 15% Riesling into the Arneis base does.  Peach and passion fruit aromas and flavors get a boost from Riesling's lime and stone notes.  A dash of white pepper and hints of fresh fennel add interest and plenty of juicy stone and citrus fruit drive the mouthwatering finish where hints of stone and slate linger.  Tasty stuff indeed!

Paitin Barbera d'Alba Serra 2012 Product #30176 (In Stock)
Paitin Barbera d'Alba Serra 2012 Paitin Barbera d'Alba Serra 2012

From the northern edge of Paitin’s estate Barbaresco vineyard, Serraboella, where the slightly higher amount of clay in the soil favors Barbera over Nebbiolo.  At one time, this was a flashy, oaked-up, wine but no more!  Now it spends 12 months in old Slavonian oak casks, tempering Barbera’s juicy acidity, retaining rich fruit, and adding a tiny bit of structure and spice.  Blackberry and dark cherry fruit hold center state here with hints of crushed violets, leather and spice for complexity.  A great drinker that will pair with a huge range of foods.

"Paitin's 2012 Barbera d'Alba Serra jumps from the glass with dark red cherries, plums, spices, rose petals and tobacco are some of the many notes that meld together in the 2012 Barbera d'Alba Serra. Sweet floral and spice notes flesh out in an ample wine that overdelivers big time. The Serra was aged exclusively in Slavonian oak.  Drink 2014-2020."  Vinous (Galloni) 90 points

Paitin Nebbiolo d'Alba Ca Veja 2012 Product #30178 (In Stock)
Paitin Nebbiolo d'Alba Ca Veja 2012 Paitin Nebbiolo d'Alba Ca Veja 2012

Zowie!  A big, rich, Nebbiolo that's fun to drink right now.

"The 2012 Nebbiolo d'Alba Ca' Veja is another super-intense wine bursting at the seams with pure fruit. The flavors tend towards the raspberry/strawberry end of the spectrum, but the intensity and volume is pure Paitin. This ample, textured Nebbiolo is another overachieving wine from the Pasquero brothers."  Vinous (Galloni) 90-92 points

Paitin Barbaresco Serra 2012 Product #30172 (In Stock)
Paitin Barbaresco Serra 2012 Paitin Barbaresco Serra 2012

Paitin makes three different wines from their excellent Serraboella vineyard, with Serra coming from the “young” vines – although much of this stock is 15-20 years old.  “Vibrancy” is the key word here, with fresh aromas of red berry, ginger, nutmeg, and smoke and a zippy cherry/raspberry palate with accents of spice and herb.  Even since Galloni tasted this, it’s smoothed out and shows plenty of fruit and a silky texture.  The most immediately delicious of the three Barbaresco (although sure to improve).

"Paitin's 2012 Barbaresco Serra bursts from the glass with exuberant red fruit, flowers, spices and crushed rocks. There is no shortage of intensity, although the Serra comes across as a bit rough around the edges, especially next to the 2011. It will be interesting to see what the last bit of aging brings.  Drink 2016-2024"  Vinous (Galloni) 89-91 points

"A bright, juicy, red exhibiting cherry, raspberry, licorice, spice and floral flavors. Becomes more tannic, lingering on the moderately long finish. Decant now or cellar for two to three years. Best from 2018-2013."Wine Spectator 92 points

Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin 2009 Product #30173 (In Stock)
Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin 2009 Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin 2009

The steal of this offer and a great example of why a difficult vintage in Barolo doesn’t necessarily mean problems in Barbaresco!  Barolo struggled to get ripe tannins without cooked fruit flavors in the hot 2009 summer, but the slightly cooler weather in Barbaresco let the grapes ripen perfectly and mature fully before harvest.  This is an exciting wine the delivers everything you love about great Nebbiolo in a rich, tempting, style.  Don’t miss this one.

"The estate’s 2009 Barbaresco Sori’ Paitin shows the rich, generous style of the year, but with plenty of underlying structure. Tobacco, sweet spices and licorice float from the glass in this powerful, intense Barbaresco. Exotic hints of spice and orange peel linger on the finish. This is yet another totally compelling wine from Paitin. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029."Wine Advocate 94 points

Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne 1999 Product #30175 (In Stock)
Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne 1999 Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne 1999

Made from the 65 year-old vines at the heart of the Sori Paitin vineyard within view of the villages of Neive, Treiso and Barbaresco. The 1999 vintage marked the first time these vines had ever been bottled separately, and ever since then, this has been Paitin's top wine.

"The 1999 Barbaresco Sorì Paitin Vecchie Vigne is dark, powerful and opulent, with more than enough stuffing to age well for the better part of the next decade. Smoke, menthol, tar, black fruit and French oak blossom in the glass as this resonant, exuberant Barbaresco show off its unique, totally compelling personality. The French oak is present, but well balanced at the same time."  Vinous (Galloni) 92 points

"Impressive wine. Rich aromas of ripe fruit and freshly ground spices. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. A blockbuster, yet very polished. Best after 2003. 500 cases made."Wine Spectator 93 points
