Definitely a fuller, richer Kabinett, but delicious nonetheless! This fantastic Riesling from a family-owned estate that dates back to the 14th century, and one of the Mosel's most famous sites, opens with aromas of marzipan, white flowers, lemon curd, and fresh peaches. On the palate it has that lovely, crackling acidity you'd expect in a Kabinett, especially from the 2010 vintage, but the finish shows a bit more richness than other producers, and a delicious note of gooey marshmallow. A wonderful foil for pungent cheese or spicy food, or just as an afternoon sipper. Yum!

Another gorgeous Riesling from a classified Mosel-Saar-Ruwer site, this Kabinett from Reichsfraf von Kesselstatt has all the vibrancy and drive you could want in an off-dry Riesling. Classic aromas of spring flowers and stone fruits on the nose, and refreshing, almost prickly acidity. Mouthwatering and delicious.

It's part of a new wave of German wines made in a dry style and meant to showcase the unique aspects of different vineyard sites, in this case the blue slate the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer is famous for. Beautiful aromas of pineapple and ripe stone fruits on the nose, and at once concetrated and energetic on the palate. Stunning.
