- Robert Biale Basic Black Red 2012 Product #30450 (In Stock)
A brand new wine from Zinfandel master Robert Biale, this is an exciting attempt to replicate "Old World" field blends with "New World" precision and ripeness. A blend of 35% Syrah, 35% Petite Sirah, 10% Grenache, 15% Zinfandel, and 5% Carignan from sites across Sonoma were harvested simultaneously and co-fermented in a single, integrated, lot. A 16 day fermentation and 17 months aging in 25% new French oak allowed everything to come together in this exciting, powerful, soon-to-be classic!
"Rich and delicious, featuring date nut bread, crushed wild berry, Earl Grey tea, nutmeg and forest floor notes. The tannins are refined and plush, with a long, lingering finish. Petite Sirah, Syrah, Zinfandel, Grenache and Carignane. Drink now through 2025."Wine Spectator 91 points
