- Uccelliera Brunello Di Montalcino 2010 Product #29328 (In Stock)
VERY LIMTIED Pre-Arrival - wine arrives in late March. Founder/owner Andrea Cortonesi launched Uccelliera in 1986 by purchasing a few hectares of land that had been part of the famous Ciacci Piccolomini estate in the warm southern Castelnuovo dell'Abate part of the Montalcino vineyard. The purchase included a small farm house named “Uccelliera” - or “bird house” - for its site perched on the top of a hill. This tiny estate burst onto the international wine scene with its powerful 1997 vintage and has remained one of Montalcino’s most sought-after wines ever since – including in the great 2010 harvest.
“A red with lots of dried berry, dried tomato and mineral character on the nose. Full body very chewy and structured. A dense and chewy wine that needs time to soften. Big and powerful. Better in 2017.” James Suckling 94 points
