- Vietti Moscato D'asti Cascinetta 2014 Product #29457 (In Stock)
One of Italy's best Moscato d'Astis comes to us from the great Barolo producer Vietti. The beautiful perfumed aromatics of Moscato - peaches, apricots, and honeysuckle - are front and center here. On the palate, the nectar-like sweetness is balanced by just enough fresh acidity and gentle bubbles. Perfect with light fruit desserts, brunch, or just to sip and contemplate on its own.
- Vietti Barolo Castiglione 2011 Product #29969 (In Stock)
Winemaker Luca Currado makes his outstanding value Castiglione from the family’s smaller holdings in some of Barolo’s most famous “crus” or vineyards. The 2011 edition is based on fruit Castiglione Falletto, Monforte, Barolo and Novello plus all of the fruit that would have gone into the super-premium Villero Riserva in a better vintage. It’s a wine that far outshines the typical “Barolo Normale” and marries a lovely, lush, and open texture today with the acid/tannic structure Barolo needs to age for 5+ years. Outstanding value!
“Pale ruby with orange tinges. Classic Nebbiolo nose yet closed and with the merest hint of oak. Compact and fresh fruit on the palate with a proper load of firm, ripe tannins and hints of fruit cake and cherry on the finish. Should be a joy to drink in six months’ time.” JancisRobinson.com 17/20 points
“Bright and beautiful with dried berry, hazelnut and citrus character. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. All the Vietti pedigree here with a more reasonable price.” James Suckling 92 points
“Shows consistent quality that consumers have come to count on. Fruit is sourced from the greater Castiglione area. The nose is compact and impeccable with dark cherry and plum, backed by spice, licorice and anise seed. There's even a playful touch of bitter chocolate on the close.”Wine Advocate 92 points
- Vietti Barolo Brunate 2008 Product #25830 (In Stock)
1 Bottle Available
"The 2008 Barolo Brunate flows onto the palate with layers of dark fruit, spices, menthol and licorice. It is an unusually plush, generous wine for the year, endowed with tons of grace and sheer depth. This is a fabulous, layered Brunate that should drink well with a few more years in the bottle. Layers of sweet, perfumed fruit, rose petals and spices build effortlessly to the gracious, elegant finish. The Brunate is brooding and tannic, but the wine softens a bit with air. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028"Wine Advocate 93 points
