Dom Vincent Dampt Chablis 2011 375ml Product #27035 (In Stock)
Dom Vincent Dampt Chablis 2011 375ml Dom Vincent Dampt Chablis 2011 375ml

This is stony, pure, Chablis with plenty of crisp fruit and slatey mineral and just a touch of roundness from limited use of neutral oak.  Creamy without any sign of heaviness and very nice length for a Village wine.

"A solidly complex and reasonably refined nose features notes of dried flowers, lemon zest, mineral reduction and a hint of iodine. There is good energy to the racy and well-detailed middle weight flavors that possess a seductive texture before terminating in a persistent, clean and moderately dry finish. This harmonious effort should mature quickly. Outstanding Top Value."Allen Meadows 89 points

Dom Des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2011 Half Bottle Product #28285 (In Stock)
Dom Des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2011 Half Bottle Dom Des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2011 Half Bottle

HALF BOTTLE.  From 40+ year-old vines in the heart of Fourchaume, proper, harvested the first 3 days of September, just before the rain that caused so many problems with rot for others.  The fruit came in just under 12.5% alcohol with vibrant acidity that benefited from 12 months in neutral oak.  As estate manager Lyne Marchive says of her 2011s overall, “It's classic in style but not unduly austere plus it should drink well early if someone prefers it."  Don’t miss the chance to get some in half-bottles and magnum, too!

"A very slight chew to give texture, plus plenty of bright green apple fruit. Great intensity on the mid-palate – certainly has ageing potential."  Jancis Robinson Purple Pages 17/20 points

"Sweet Spot Outstanding. A dense nose of ripe white orchard fruit, floral notes and a hint of tidal pool character precedes the very rich and suave flavors that possess good power and excellent depth and length. This is a relatively big yet refined Fourchaume that displays plenty of mid-palate dry extract."Allen Meadows 90-93 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2011 Product #26470 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2011 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2011

Another fantastic wine from Chablis traditionalist Louis Michel. Stylistically, a blend of 2010's vibrancy and 2009's richness. Winemaker Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel thinks this will age well, but "it may not really matter as they are already so attractive that they will be hard to resist young."

"This is more typical, aromatically speaking, with its expressive nose of iodine, lemon rind and layered green fruit aromas. There is good richness and solid mid-palate density to the seductively textured flavors that possess good verve on the agreeably tangy and lingering finish. This more firmly structured effort offers fine quality for what it is."Allen Meadows 88-90 points

"Lemon, smoke, butter, spices and white flowers emerge from the 2011 Chablis. A blend of premier crus from the left bank, the Chablis captures a highly attractive middle ground between the richness of the year and the inherent minerality of Chablis. It should drink nicely upon release. Anticipated maturity: 2013+."Wine Advocate 87-88 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2012 Product #27975 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2012 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2012

Just another fantastic wine from the Chablis traditionalists at Domaine Louis Michel. We love the marriage of ripe, wide-open, Chardonnay fruit with Chablis’ crisp acidity and lingering, refreshing, wet-stone minerality.  Co-winemaker Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel loves how his 2011s “are classic but with charm as they have plenty of Chablis character but without the austerity of vintages like 2008 or 2010.”

From first sniff, this blend of organically grown Chardonnay from 25+ year-old vines grown in several different 1er Cru vineyards screams “Chablis!”  Generous aromas of fresh-from-the-tree apple, mint, white flowers, and crushed stones jump from the glass.  The wine enters your mouth with a sense of richness and lusciousness with generous flavors of crisp apple, green fig, tangerine and lime zest followed by a big burst of mouthwatering lemon/lime acidity and salty oyster shell and chalk minerality.  The rich texture makes this delicious to sip all on its own, but it will sing with shellfish, halibut, and creamy mushroom and chicken dishes, too.  Bravo!

"There is plenty of Chablis character to the mostly green fruit and shellfish suffused nose. I like the mouth feel to the round and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess fine persistence on the clean, dry and focused finish.” Allen Meadows 88 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2012 Product #28068 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2012 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2012

Some of the most chalky soils in Chablis here, and you’ll taste the chalk and limestone in the wine.  The wine is actually a touch riper than Forets, but with fantastic tension and purity.

"Michel's 2012 Chablis Vaillons brings together intense mineral notes along with more exotic suggestions of orange peel, star anise and spice, all in a medium-bodied, energetic style that is highly appealing. There is a level of transparency and pure nuance in the 2012 that is striking." Antonio Galloni 90-92 points

"Plenty of volume and a lovely minerality to the delicious medium weight flavors that offer good if not truly special depth and length on the otherwise balanced finish."Allen Meadows 89-90 points

“Bright green-tinged yellow. Scented aromas of pear, citrus zest, lichee, white pepper and acacia flower. Intensely flavored and tactile, with very good energy to its citrus, spice and mint flavors. This pristine wine shows a light touch and finishes with sneaky length.” International Wine Cellar 88-92 points

“Sweet Spot Outstanding. Discreet notes of algae, oyster shell and white flowers slide gracefully into rich, concentrated and overtly muscular middle weight flavors that possess both excellent volume and palate staining dry extract. Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montee Tonnerre 2012 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montee Tonnerre 2012

Probably the best 1er Cru vineyard in Chablis, Montee de Tonnere lies on the same part of the hill and on the same soils as Les Clos.  More powerful and mineral than Forets, but also a touch less open today.  Magnificent.

"The 2012 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre is wonderfully alive in the glass. Crystalline, precise and drop-dead gorgeous, the 2012 captures the best qualities of the year. Sweet floral notes add a sense of airiness to the 2012 that is hugely appealing, while the intense minerality kicks in on the delicate, gracious finish."  Antonio Galloni 92-94 points

"Sweet Spot Outstanding. An expressive nose of fresh, cool and reserved aromas that are elegant, airy and intensely citrus-inflected merge seamlessly into rich, intense and pure medium-bodied flavors that possess really lovely balance and superb length on the saline and markedly dry finish. This is a wine of harmony and impeccably good balance."Allen Meadows 90-92 points

“Complex, inviting nose combines white peach, lemon, lime, crushed stone and fresh herbs. Densely packed and highly concentrated, with ineffable notes of citrus fruit, flowers, minerals, mint and herbs. Boasts a lovely balance of sucrosite and acidity. Really stains the palate and vibrates on the aromatic, mineral-tinged aftertaste.” International Wine Cellar 91-94 points

Dauvissat Chablis Village 2012 Product #28023 (In Stock)

A stunning village wine from one of Burgundy's best white wine estates.  Delicious now, but best after 2016. Very limited.

"As is typically the case chez Dauvissat this displays even more Chablis character with a completely different aromatic profile that is composed of cool and pure white flower, sea breeze and iodine nuances. There is lovely intensity but also good mid-palate stuffing that imparts a rounded palate impression to the saline-inflected finish. This should drink well young but also reward 4 to 6 years of cellar time."Allen Meadows 87-89 points

"Bright, pale yellow. Lemon, quinine and crushed stone on the nose. Silky and dense, with lovely cut to its rather austere lemon and mineral flavors. This incisive village wine shows excellent texture and length."International Wine Cellar 89-91 points

"From barrel, Vincent Dauvissat-s 2012 Chablis delivers a bracing sense of cut and brightness with its juicy alliance of fresh lemon, white currant and apple. The feel here is firm though subtly lees-enhanced, and when taken together with the wine-s prominent acids, almost a bit austere. Crushed stone and salt enhance a sense of invigoration and milk the salivary glands in a lingering finish. I suspect that this overachiever for its appellation will drink well through 2016."Wine Advocate 89-90 points

Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2011 Product #28282 (In Stock)
Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2011 Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2011

The most grand of the Chablis Grand Crus, Les Clos delivers the perfect marriage of Puligy-like richness and power with classic Chablis stony minerality.  About 15% of the barrels used to age the fruit of these 50 year-old vines was new, but the wine has largely absorbed any lingering new wood flavors.  A majestic wine at a very, very, good price for drinking 2016-2026+.

"Apple, apricot, a bit more substance than the Vaudésir, and more intensity too. Seems to call for longer ageing. Very attractive primary fruit scent nonetheless, and well integrated oak."  Jancis Robinson Purple Pages 17.5/20 points

"From a .53 ha parcel planted in 1962 and matured in mostly older oak but there is a small percentage of new wood. The wood regimen is sufficiently subtle to allow the ultra-pure and elegant aromas of yellow orchard fruit, white flowers, lemon rind and mineral reduction to shine. The rich, intense and equally mineral-driven big-bodied flavors are brilliantly well-delineated before exploding into a chiseled, dry, saline-infused, austere and beautifully long though markedly austere finish. As one would reasonably expect this will need a few years to completely come together." Allen Meadows 92 points

Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2011 Product #27592 (In Stock)
Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2011 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2011

A beautiful Chablis that's showing now with fantastic concentration and salty minerality.

"This is not only more elegant but more complex as well with a much greater emphasis on the typical Séchet citrus elements. There is good richness to the round and relatively generous medium weight flavors that possess a seductively textured mouth feel. There is a lovely minerality and underlying tension to the very dry, balanced and persistent finish. This should be good and offer solid mid-term cellaring potential."Allen Meadows 90-92 points

"The Vincent Dauvissat 2011 Chablis Sechet delivers a striking sense of lift and transparency allied to infectious juiciness. Succulent and refreshing grapefruit, lime and yellow plum are wreathed in buddleia and high-toned herbal extracts, then mingled on a buoyant (almost delicate) and silken-textured palate with the saline-sweet savor of raw scallop. The saliva-inducing, umami-rich animal aspects are perfectly complemented by almost infinite juiciness of citrus and pit fruits that are transparent to seductively floral and shimmeringly crystalline-mineral nuances. This long-finishing beauty should not be missed now, in its youth, but I imagine it will continue to cast its spell through at least 2018."Wine Advocate 93 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles 2010 Product #26235 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles 2010 Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles 2010

"This is perhaps ever-so-slightly riper still than the Vaudésir, yet the expressive nose remains cool and fresh with aromas of white flowers, tidal pool and citrus nuances that merge gracefully into full-bodied and overtly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that also possess plenty of acid-buffering dry extract on the tight, intense and highly enduring finish. Excellent cellar potential."Allen Meadows 92-94 points

"The 2010 Chablis Grenouilles, on the other hand, is much more closed down. Today it is the wine’s crystalline minerality that comes through most clearly. Hints of jasmine, green pears and apples develop in the glass, but this is a wine that needs time before its full personality begins to emerge. It is above all else a wine of finesse and, at times, an almost feminine vulnerability. Anticipated maturity: 2014."Wine Advocate 94+ points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2010 Product #26236 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2010 Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2010

"Hints of sulfur reduce the present attractiveness of the otherwise complex and well-nuanced nose that displays notes of oyster shell, white pepper and dried flowers. Like the Grenouilles, this is also very tight and backwards with its beautifully detailed and borderline painfully intense flavors that culminate in a serious, linear and palate staining finish. This impeccably well-balanced effort should also amply reward 6 to 10 years of development."Allen Meadows 92-94 points

"Michel’s 2010 Chablis Les Clos comes across as big, rich and powerful. It is rather viscous on the palate, as there was a touch of botrytis in the vineyard. In 2010, it is the vintage that speaks most loudly. I can’t say this is an especially typical Les Clos, but it is a beautiful wine if taken on its own terms. Nectarine, peaches, exotic flowers and anise meld together on the textured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013+."Wine Advocate 93 points
