Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2013 375ml Product #29453 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2013 375ml Dom Louis Michel Chablis 2013 375ml

Half Bottle. Guillaume Michel crafts his “village” level Chablis from seven different Chablis vineyards located on both sides of the river.  The organically farmed vines are up to 50 years of age and produce clean, ripe, succulent fruit – even in difficult vintages like 2013.  From the classic green-tinged color and modest 12.5% alcohol, you might expect this to be sharp or green tasting, but even with no oak to hide any flaws, it’s a lovely marriage of generous, ripe green and yellow apple, tangerine, and lemon/lime fruit and Chablis classic cut and salty stone minerality.  An easy wine to enjoy all by itself or with a wide range of foods, but you certainly will love it with traditional Chablis matches like oysters and clams!

"Tangerine, spice and hazelnut overtones emerge from Louis Michel's 2013 Chablis. This textured, expressive, mid-weight Chablis is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years."  Antonio Galloni 87-88 points

"A more complex nose features notes of exotic dried yellow fruit, white flowers and a whiff of sea breeze. There is more volume and better punch to the delicious, clean and somewhat drier finish. This too will be approachable young."Allen Meadows 86-89 points

Dom Vincent Dampt Chablis 2014 Product #29868 (In Stock)

From one of the best "under the radar" houses in Chablis, this is just another in a string of village wines Burghound always rates "Sweetspot Outstanding." White and yellow orchard fruits get lift from notes of sea breeze saltiness and wet stone minerality.  Lovely tension between the ripe fruit flavors and zingy acids and notes of chalk.  As Burghound says, "Given the modest prices that the Dampt family wines typically sell for they represent screaming values."

Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Forets 2013 Product #29450 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Forets 2013 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Forets 2013

"The 2013 Chablis Forêts is a little richer and more powerful than the Montmains owing to the slightly warmer microclimate. At the same time, the heavy presence of limestone in these soils yields a wine with bright, saline-infused minerality and considerable steely tension."  Antonio Galloni 90-92 points

"Here too there are notes of mineral reduction on the citrus, apple and algae suffused nose. The generous yet refined medium-bodied flavors possess good mid-palate concentration as well as a lovely bead of minerality that continues onto the clean, refreshing and saline finish. This isn't quite as refined as the Montmains but it compensates by displaying a bit more minerality and persistence."Allen Meadows 88-91 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2013 Product #29471 (In Stock)
Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2013 Dom Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2013

First vintage for this wine that was part of Vaillons.

"Discreet but pure aromas and flavors of stone and citrus fruits. Fruity, elegant and dry in a positive way, with pliant fruit flavors firmed up on the back end by a stony element but given added personality by an exotic suggestion of soft citrus flavor."  Vinous (Tanzer) 88-90 points

"This is really quite pretty with its softly citrus-inflected nose of what floral, algae and quinine water. The medium-bodied flavors are equally attractive with a refined mouth feel and solid delineation before culminating in a spicy finish that displays a hint of bitter lemon. This is a Séchets of finesse and understatement."Allen Meadows 90-92 points

Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2012 Product #29527 (In Stock)
Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2012 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Sechet 2012

"Stony aromas of white pepper, biscuit and white truffle. Dense and energetic, with a distinctly savory saline quality leavening the intense lemon and mineral flavors. Finishes stony and very long, with terrific energy and grip."  Steve Tanzer 92+ points

"The 2012 Chablis Sechet opens with the most exquisite, expressive aromatics imaginable. Weightless and totally gracious in the glass, the 2012 is a wine of sublime understatement. Hints of petrol, graphite and smoke on the finish suggest the 2012 will develop considerable aromatic nuance in bottle. What a gorgeous wine this is."  Antonio Galloni 94 points

Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2012 Product #28424 (In Stock)
Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2012 Dom Des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2012

Not just Grand Cru, but the very best Grand Cru in all of Chablis, the famous sun-washed, chalk-laced, hill of Les Clos.  Fruit this ripe, powerful, and perfect deserves extra attention, so this is the only wine at the Domaine to receive new oak (about 15%).  Very Grand Cru on the nose where deep aromas of green apple, lemon oil, apple and peach blossom, and wet chalk swirl in the glass.  In the mouth, powerful and deep with riper fruit – golden apple, pineapple, yellow peach – plus a good dose of lime and lime zest.  Dense in the middle and long on the ripe but salty/savory finish where fruit and stone flavors linger. Give it an hour of air now or cellar for 5 years and then enjoy for 10 more.  Brilliant – and less expensive than any good 1er Cru Puligny!

"Really tropical fruit, and a bit of oak here – distinguished and distinctive. Very immediate and open – a real crowd pleaser without sacrificing authenticity and typicality."  JancisRobinson.com 17.5/20 points

"From a .53 ha parcel planted in 1962 and matured in mostly older oak. This is a bit more elegant compared to the Vaudésir with its ripe, pure and pretty aromas of lavender, apple, wet stone and white orchard fruit scents. There is fine density to the powerful and muscular broad-scaled flavors that manage to retain a fine sense of detail on the palate staining and wonderfully persistent finish. This is presently quite backward it will need a few years to find its center." Allen Meadows 91-93 points

"Medium yellow straw in color, this barrel fermented (95% used, 5% new) Grand Cru reveals refined aromatics with elements of citrus zest, stony minerals, and a light touch of honeyed oak. It's densely flavored with layers of rich fruit and hints of light sandalwood, finishing long with rich extract. This is a complex and elegant wine that will drink well over the next decade."i-Wine Review 94 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2013 Product #29475 (In Stock)

From the largest and, arguably, best of Chablis Grand Cru vineyards, this is a majestic, if tightly-wound, wine.  Powerful and fresh at once.

“A mysterious wine, the 2013 Chablis Les Clos isn't ready to show all of its cards just yet. Chamomile, spices, sage and mint grace the palate in an exquisite, subtle Chablis long on class. Today the Clos is quite reticent and unexpressive, but I found that with many wines from this site in 2013, so that is not terribly surprising.”  Antonio Galloni 91-93 points

“Don’t Miss! A penetrating nose features pungent notes of mineral reduction, wet stone, rose petal and citrus peel. There is excellent volume and detail on the intense, and intensely stony, flavors that possess ample size, weight and muscle. This is less youthfully monolithic than it usually is, indeed this is really quite succulent and approachable though note that it should improve for up to a decade.”Allen Meadows 91-94 points

Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2013 Product #29529 (In Stock)
Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2013 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2013

Always excellent, in 2013 Vaillons is clearly one of the better 1er Cru vineyards of the vintage.  Always a vivid, minerally, wine, this edition seems to have an extra gear of concentration and depth.

"Bright yellow. Ripe aromas of lemon drop and biscuit, with sexy nuances of wild herbs, ginger and white flowers. Vibrant and energetic in the mouth, spreading out to saturate the palate with classic, sharply chiseled flavors of ginger and crushed stone. Finishes tactile, saline and palate-staining, with impressive penetration. Vaillons appears to have been a favored cru in 2013, as most of this cru's fruit was ripe enough to have benefited from an early harvest, before conditions deteriorated."  Stephen Tanzer 91-93 points

"Slate, crushed rocks, smoke and white orchard fruit blossom in the 2013 Chablis Vaillons, a wine that sizzles with energy, tension and pure class. The flavors are remarkably pure and vivid from start to finish. I very much like the intensity here. There is so much to look forward to in this tense, tightly wound Vaillons."   Antonio Galloni 92-94 points

Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru La Forest 2013 Product #29530 (In Stock)
Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru La Forest 2013 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru La Forest 2013

Cooler soils than Vaillon and Sechet means Forest (or Forets – you’ll see it both ways) ripens a bit more slowly, but these 40 year-old vines (average age) deliver concentration and honeyed richness that’s uncommon at the 1er Cru level.  Always a favorite.

"Bright, subdued aromas of pear drop and citrus fruit. Densely packed and saline in the mouth, offering terrific stony energy and depth along with a sexy impression of sucrosite. Still tight, austere and uncompromisingly dry for all its richness. More obviously soil-driven than the foregoing samples--really classic stony Chablis premier cru."  Steven Tanzer 91-94 points

"An exotic, beguiling beauty, the 2013 Chablis La Forest seems to bring together the expansiveness of the Sechets and the intense minerality of the Vaillons. Graphite, minerals and exotic, perfumed fruit nuances grace the palate in an exceptionally beautiful, vivid Chablis to treasure over the next two decades."   Antonio Galloni 92-94 points

Dom Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles 2013 Product #29473 (In Stock)

A powerful, fruit-filled, Grenouilles that’s almost too tempting right now.  Ripe and exotic, here you’ll find tropical fruit like mango, papaya, and even pineapple to go with the green apple and salty stone character more typical of Chablis.  And, it’s very, very, long.

“Rather exotic aromas of yellow peach, mango, menthol and spices. Rich, broad and tactile, but with nicely integrated acidity (actually the highest of these 2013s, along with Les Clos, at 4.0 gram per liter) leavening the wine's fat and sweetness. Nicely balanced wine from 50-year-old vines.”  Steve Tanzer 89-92 points

“Sweet Spot Outstanding. This isn't quite as ripe and the nose is a bit fresher if perhaps not quite as complex with its pretty aromas of mineral reduction, citrus and dried white flowers. Here too there is a good sense of underlying tension to the broad-shouldered and generously proportioned flavors that possess plenty of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a saline, long and intense finish that engenders that involuntary salivating reaction. This too should be accessible in its youth.”Allen Meadows 91-93 points
