Perfect as an apéritif or after dinner drink, and useful in many recipes as well. Madeira comes in two forms, dry or sweet, and both are thick, concentrated and fragrant. There is just the slightest hint of residual sweetness in this Rainwater. Once opened, Madeira can be kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks with little if any change in its complex aromatics and flavors, making it the perfect alternative to Port to keep around for those times when you just want 'a little something.'

A magnificent, nutty and lightly sweet, Madeira with a classic bite and salty tang at the end. Beautiful with cheese or nuts or caramel desserts. Because Madeira is already oxidized and "cooked," it's more or less indestructible. Open a bottle, leave it on the counter, and enjoy over months (or longer!).
"The 1996 Colheita was aged in oak casks for five years and then bottled. It has a very well-defined bouquet of dried figs, lemon rind, dried herbs and a touch of dates that soar from first opening and continue to bloom over several hours. The palate is fresh and lively. This is a more feminine Colheita with a crisp thread of acidity: lovely touches of marmalade and orange rind counterbalancing its viscous texture.
