- Villa Jolanda Prosecco 200ml Individual Bottle Product #23927 (In Stock)
-
-
Villa Jolanda Prosecco is made from 100% Prosecco grapes grown in the hills north of Treviso. Grapes are hand-harvested, chilled in the vineyard, and given a low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit. The wine features lovely aromas of white flowers, orchard fruits, and a touch of mineral. Lightly sparkling with very pretty, small, bubbles, the wine is full of flavor - peach, ripe apple, lemon zest, and a nice mineral streak. Fruity and crisp, the wine finishes with a touch of mineral and yellow apple. A fantastic wine to keep on hand for everyday celebrations or to stock up on for Holiday parties. Delicious!
- Santa Barbara Verdicchio 2011 Product #25910 (In Stock)
-
-
Santa Barbara's entry-level Verdicchio has been a favorite at the store for years. For the second year in a row, this vintage sees a bit of a step up from what was already a rock-solid white. You'll find a lovely melange of dried lemon, pink grapefruit, mineral and a touch of dried herb here in a fairly full-bodied take on Verdicchio. It's at once round/fruity and juicy/crisp.
- Volpetti Cesanese 2009 Product #26764 (In Stock)
-
-
The 2009 Volpetti Cesanese Lazio is bigger, bolder, more fruit filled, and even more delicious than the 2009 (while still pretty garishly packaged). From vineyards around Rome, the Volpetti packs a punch of lush dark damson plum and black cherry fruit with accents of earth and spice. A short stay in old oak barrels softens the tannins and adds a hint of sweet balsamic. Drink this a touch cool with pizza margherita, a bowl of pasta in red sauce, or even a big, juicy, burger and you'll be very, very, happy!
- Colsanto Ruris Umbria 2010 Product #26966 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's our single best-selling Italian wine of the past five years - a fantastic value that tastes like it costs twice as much as it does. The wine is mainly (70%) Sangiovese and delivers plenty of that variety's juicy black cherry fruit. But, the 20% Merlot in the blend rounds out the mid-palate and keeps the wine soft while the secret ingredient -- 10% Sagrantino -- adds spice and complexity uncommon in Umbrian wines. Sure, it goes well with pizza and robust pasta sauces, but there's enough going on to handle game and hard, salty, cheeses and a soft enough finish just to drink at a party. Fantastic value.

- Mazzolino Pinot Noir Terrazze 2011 Product #26877 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a wonderfully fresh and fruit filled (but European) Pinot that's very Beaujolais like in its tangy fruit and earthy complexity. The flavors show off cranberry and sour raspberry fruit with a touch of earth at first then get riper and more juicy on the soft and easy finish. Very easy drinking and fresh like good Gamay but with a touch more Pinot earth. A young-vines, all tank, wine from Italy's top Pinot Noir specialists, four-time winners of the coveted Tre Bicchieri award for their top Pinot Noir!
- Agricola Punica Montessu Isola Dei Nuraghi IGT 2009 Product #25117 (In Stock)
-

Having first invented the “super Tuscan” at Sassacaia and then demonstrated the top variations on the theme at Tignanello, Solaia, and Solengo, Giacomo Tachis began looking for new challenges. Somehow, Tachis came across a wine from Sardinia made mainly from Carignano (Carignan). The man who showed the world that Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot could thrive in Tuscany now had a new mission – to prove that Sardinian Carignano could rival the best of Priorat or France’s Languedoc.
Tachis recruited the owners of Tenuta San Guido (Sassicaia) and Sardinia’s top winery, Cantina di Santadi, to create Agricola Puncia in Sardinia’s Isola dei Nuraghi region. Montessu is the estate’s more accessible wine, a blend of 60% Carignano and 10% each Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It needs a big swirl to unlock the aromas now, but shows blue/black fruit, smoke, tar and licorice aromas and flavor that will just expand with air or time. Balanced and silky smooth at first before the firm mineral and smoke elements well up from underneath. Tasty on its own and sure to please with reach braises and grilled lamb! - Cantina Taburno Falanghina 2011 Product #26003 (In Stock)
-
-
A perennial favorite, the Cantina del Taburno Falanghina is better than ever in 2011. At once crisp and deeply fruity, this is about as refreshing and enticing a Falanghina as we’ve ever seen. You’ll find loads of pretty lemon, nectarine, and almond blossom aromas and flavors and a bright, citrusy finish with good underlying minerality. The wine is long on the palate and then even longer on the captivating finish. Easy to drink on its own and simply brilliant with seafood or light poultry dishes. Just plain excellent.
- Tenuta Pederzana Gibe Lambrusco 2009 Product #25772 (In Stock)
-
-
Don't be scared - this is not your grandma's Lambrusco! This is a dry, but joyfully fruity red sparkler made from Grasparossa, the red grape that produces the best and most concentrated Lambruscos. Drink it as they do in Emilia Romagna, as an aperitif with cured meats, parmesan cheese, or fried nibbles. It's also fabulous with pizza!
- Vercesi Pezzalunga Oltrepo Pavese Rosso 2011 Product #26161 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a fantastic pizza red from southern Lombardy. It's a distinctive blend of Barbera, Bonarda (Croatina), Uva Rara, Pinot Nero, and Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers a big mouthful of black raspberry and tart cherry fruit. Super juicy and fresh, there's a touch of herb to go with the cherry/berry fruit and a mouthwatering finish. Pizza with spec and rocket comes immediately to mind!
- Vercesi Gugiarolo Pinot Nero Bianco 2011 Product #26655 (In Stock)
-
-
Yes, this is the "geekiest" white wine in the store - a white made from 100% Pinot Noir (yup - Noir, not Blanc) in the southern part of Lombardy. But, it's here because it's just crazy delicious and will delight anyone who love Pinot Gris or Chardonnay. Aromas of red berries, apple and almond lead to a fully flavored, richly textured, mouthful of orchard fruits and just a hint of cherry. Gain minerality in the middle and on the long, juicy, finish. A terrific choice for pre-dinner sipping with nibbles or all kinds of seafood or poultry dishes.
- Muri-Gries Lagrein Alto Adige 2011 Product #26455 (In Stock)
-
-
From the hills of Alto Adige, the red Lagrein grape can give bitter, astringent, wine. Here, though, you'll find complex aromas of blackberry, blueberry, smoke, pepper and licorice. In the mouth, the blue/black fruit continues as a note of lavender joins the licorice and spice. Finishes long, pure, and fine. Juicy, vibrant, and just utterly, utterly, delicious.
"Opaque inky-ruby. Complex, deep nose combines blackberry, blueberry jelly, smoke, pepper and licorice. Silky yet dense and rich, with an insidious sweetness to its aromatic flavors of delicately smoky black fruits. Not a wine of great power or thrust but very elegantly styled and pure. The long finish features fine-grained tannins."International Wine Cellar 90 points
- Vercesi Gugiarolo Pinot Nero Bianco 2012 Product #27118 (In Stock)
-
-
Not much was made this vintage of what could be the geekiest white in the store, made from 100% Pinot Noir in the southern part of Lombardy. It's just crazy delicious and will delight anyone who love Pinot Gris or Chardonnay.
- Falchetto Brachetto d'Acqui 2012 Product #27013 (In Stock)
-
-
If you're a fan of Fracchia Voulet, this is your "special occasion" wine. And, if you think lightly sparkling, sweet, red wine sounds odd, then you just haven't tried a beauty like this! A traditional wine in Italy's Piemonte region, this comes from 100% Brachetto grapes, harvested early in the season, soaked for 2 days to extract color, and then fermented in tank to a low alcohol level. Brachetto's high acidity cuts through the sweet raspberry, strawberry, and rose petal flavors and the note of dark chocolate adds complexity and depth. It's beautiful in the glass, at once rich and refreshing on the palate, and a perfect wine to sip ice cold by itself or with chocolate-covered strawberries or raspberries.
- Pavese Blanc De Morgex Et De La Salle 2010 Product #26458 (In Stock)
-
-
This beautiful, singular wine is from the highest vineyard site in Europe and made from the unusual grape varietal, native to the Valle d'Aosta, Prie Blanc. The aromas are like nothing else - pithy citrus, chammomile tea, and wild honey. Words like 'racy' and 'drive' have become part of the peculiar lexicon of wine speak because of wines like this. This would be delicious with a wide range of cheeses.
- Paolo Bea Montefalco Rosso De Veo 2006 Product #26873 (In Stock)
-
-
You might want to talk with us before you try this...not for the unprepared. Wild, untamed, and volatile. Oh, and also weird, stinky, bitingly tannic and firmly acidic. And yet, delicious and compelling, a wine you can't take your eyes off of (in part because you're not sure what it might do to your dinner). We love it and want you to, too, but no guarantees.
"The 2006 Rosso De Veo is Sagrantino from the estate’s best young vines. It is a surprisingly ripe, forward wine loaded with sweet dark fruit. Here, too, most of the wine’s appeal is upfront, as the intensity of the fruit tapers off a bit on the finish. Slight hints of oxidation."Wine Advocate 88 points
