Another great vintage for this perennial "best value" Garnacha from Campo de Borgia. Powerful, deep aromas of black raspberry and cherry with accents of minerals and fresh cut flowers. Juicy and fresh in the mouth but with plenty of dark berry and cherry fruit and hints of lavender and liquorice. Long and clean on the spicy finish over oodles of ripe fruit. Easy to drink, but worth attending to.

This lovely Spanish Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with bold aromas of peach, apricot, passion fruit, and mango. In the mouth, it's at once bright and round and packed with orchard fruit, citrus, and green pineapple fruit and just the right dash of herb. Showy, but easygoing and very sippable, there's enough fruit here for New Zealand SB fans in a more relaxed, easy, package.

This is just shockingly interesting and delicious for the money. It comes from Spain’s Emporda Costa Brava region in the very northeastern corner of Catalonia near the border with France. It’s steep, rocky, territory that’s regularly lashed by the Tramontane, strong northerly winds that can sweep through the region at 70mph.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with traditional Garnacha and Mazuelo, this is hand-harvested and made in tank. The show opens with luscious aromas of black plum, crushed blackberries, leather and bitter chocolate with just a touch of lavender. Then, it’s juicy and fresh in the mouth with loads of sweet blackberry and plum fruit accented by a bit of bitter chocolate, earth and spice flavors. A squirt of blood orange acidity keeps things fresh and dark fruit, nutmeg, and slate notes all linger nicely. Easy enough to just sip and enough going on to make it a great food wine, too.

All fruit is hand-harvested, double-sorted, and vinified in a mix of stainless steel, concrete and oak.
You'll find a lovely perfume of fresh earth, lavender, and black cherries leading to medium-bodied, fresh, flavors of tart cherry and black raspberry with a spicy, mineral, edge. The balance here is just perfect and the interplay of sweet fruit, tangy acidity, fresh earth, warm stones, and ripe tannin will pull you back for sip after sip. Chill this to get even more juicy freshness or let it warm up for the fruit to darken and gain richness. A blend of Treixadura, Verdejo and Godello grown in steep riverside vineyards and vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel. The wine sparkles in the glass – brilliantly clear with hints of green and gold highlights. The aromas are compelling and complex, with notes of waxy lemon zest, green melon, fresh quince, spring flowers, and fresh rainwater. In the mouth, it’s light – just 11.5% alcohol – and very crisp, but fully flavored with spicy yellow fruits, green pineapple, lemon, and lime dancing across your palate. The price-quality-ratio here is just absurd. Toasty and yeasty on the nose then fantastically complex apple and golden fruit flavors with plenty of yeast/bread dough flavors. Stunning levels of fruit for a no-dosage wine and the kind of creamy, silky, texture normally only found in $40 Champagne. Super friendly, you can drink this like Prosecco if you like, but it's more than sophisticated enough to warrant close attention.
"Finca Valldosera is a boutique producer (5000 cases total production) of high-class Cava. All three of the above Cavas are Brut Nature meaning they have received zero dosage. The Non-Vintage Brut Nature is a blend of 45% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeo, 10% Parellada, 10% Chardonnay, and 5% Subirat Parent with 10% of the Xarel-lo barrel-fermented and aged. The wine remained sur lie for 24 months and was hand-riddled. It offers up an enticing nose of brioche, smoked nuts, and assorted white fruits. Here's a new favorite Cava, handmade from Macabeu, Zerel-lo, and Parellada grapes, aged in barrel as base wines and then for 20 months on the lees in bottle before being disgorged by hand. All of that work and care shines through in the glass here, with bright, zesty, aromas and flavors of citrus, golden apple, and fresh toast. A leesy, biscuity, Cava that stays fresh on the long finish where a touch of sweet lemon lingers. Very fine value.

Xavier Clua does it again! The newest release of this unaoked red from Terra Alta is better than ever. On the nose it shows dark black plum and super-ripe black raspberry fruit with a hint of earth - reminiscent of a first class Ribera del Duro. It's medium bodied and fresh on the attack with black raspberry fruit, some crisp sweet cherry, and a little blood orange citrus element. The fruit is sweet and ripe but stays fresh, not jammy or overripe. The finish shows more raspberry and a dash of black cherry with some sweet spice and fine, ripe, tannin. You can drink this today simply for the fruit and freshness or give it a little time (a year or two) to gain even more complexity Not a blockbuster at all, but easy as pie to drink! A blend of 50% Garnatxa Negra, 20% Syrah, 15% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

From the high altitude vineyards of Terra Alta, the Clua Millennium is a blend of 60% Garnatxa Negre (Grenache), 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 3% Monastrell and a touch of Pinot Noir. Powerful yet elegant, the wine shows a big blast of flavor without any hint of heaviness or thickness. The finish is very long and lovely, with the big fruit covering up the ripe tannin the wine will use to age gracefully for years.
