- Palacio De Bornos Verdejo Rueda 2013 Product #28642 (In Stock)
Over the past decade in Spain, "Verdejo" has come to be synonymous with "clean, crisp, white wine." Which is unexpected, since it's only been 20 years or so since the Sanz family launched this estate and led the transformation of Rueda from oxidized, sherry-like, wines to refreshing beauties like this one! Big aromas of tropical fruit, tangerine, lemongrass and lemon thyme lead to bold flavors of ripe citrus (pink grapefruit, orange, lemon) with a touch of anise and fresh cut grass for interest. It's smooth and vibrant on the palate with excellent length and a mouthwatering finish that leaves citrus, green melon, and peach skin flavors lingering nicely. A great solo sipper and very flexible with food.
- Telmo Rodriguez Rueda Basa Blanco 2013 Product #28430 (In Stock)
Here's a sizzling summer Spanish white from 92% Verdejo and 8% Viura from old head-trained vines - called "Basa" in Spanish. Big aromas of tangerine, apricot and lemon with just a hint of summery mint. The flavors are just as big - juicy pineapple, stone fruits, and tangy lemon making you mouth water as it turns up in a smile. The finish goes on and on with citrust and stone fruit flavors dancing together. Great sipper or match for fish.
"The 2013 Basa is a white blend of Verdejo with 8% Viura fermented in inox and bottled unoaked. The nose is clean with notes of green apple and hints of fennel, balanced and subtle. The palate is medium-bodied with good freshness, refreshing easy to drink. A whopping 500,000 bottles were produced in 2013. Very good value and great quality considering the volume. Drink now."Wine Advocate 90 points
