Macrostie Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2013 Product #31342 (In Stock)
Macrostie Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2013 Macrostie Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2013

BIG value here - best Pinot in the store under $30 right now.  Ripe and vibrant red berry fruit with lift from cranberry and pomegranate accents.  Lots of dark, spicy, fruit on the palate and right on through the long, smoky, finish.  An outstanding all-purpose Pinot for sipping, rich foods, and entertaining.

"The winery's larger production offering, this is made from a handful of vineyards, including many used in vineyard-designates. Blending prowess shows in this wine that explodes in plum and clove. Tight, bright acid buoys flavors of strawberry, cranberry and orange, with a twisted funk of earth on the finish."Wine Enthusiast 91 points

Neyers Chardonnay 304 Sonoma 2015 Product #31483 (In Stock)
Neyers Chardonnay 304 Sonoma 2015 Neyers Chardonnay 304 Sonoma 2015

Here's proof that "No Oak" doesn't have to mean "No Body" or "No Flavor"!  Bruce Neyere's Chardonnay 304 - for the gauge of stainless steel used for the tanks - delivers layers of rich caramelized pear and yellow apple fruit with accents of buttery caramel popcorn.  The texture is more rich, dense, and smooth than many well-oaked wines, but the purity and freshness show off the cool tank fermentation and gentle stirring of the lees.  Refreshing and fun.

"Finds a groove between ripeness, flavor and finesse, folding together with a mix of fig, pear, nectarine and tangerine notes. Glides along, with a citrusy aftertaste."Wine Spectator 90 points

Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Chardonnay 2015 Product #31505 (In Stock)

Over the past decade-plus, Paul Hobbs' Crossbarn Chardonnay has emerged as one of Sonoma's most consistently excellent values.  And, in 2015, the streak continues!  Only about 10% of this wine sees barrel (the rest is done in tank), but there's no shortage of rich, creamy, texture and generous ripe fruit.  A buttery note adds depth and fine minerality gives complexity to this classy Cali Chard value.

Arnot-roberts Syrah Sonoma Coast 2014 Product #30903 (In Stock)
Arnot-roberts Syrah Sonoma Coast 2014 Arnot-roberts Syrah Sonoma Coast 2014

"The 2014 Syrah North Coast is quite possibly the single best wine in the Arnot-Roberts range this year when it comes to quality and price. Pliant, expressive and giving, the 2014 possesses notable depth and intensity. Lavender, sage, menthol, blue/purplish fruit, licorice and graphite meld into the rich, textured finish. The 2014 was done with 100% whole clusters, but that does not take away from the wine's immediacy and sheer deliciousness, even at this early stage. Duncan Arnot and Nathan Roberts have chosen to focus on Sonoma Coast sites, many of which are bottled separately by many other producers, including Solas, Baker Lane, Clary Ranch, Que Syrah and Griffin's Lair, which is why this wine is now labeled Sonoma Coast (previously it was North Coast)."  Vinous (Galloni) 92 points

Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Watson Ranch 2014 Product #30740 (In Stock)
Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Watson Ranch 2014 Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Watson Ranch 2014

Home run aromas of pear, butter, spice, apple and toast.  Very pure and fresh on the palate before spreading out to coat your palate with creamy pear and yellow apple before finishing with a nice burst of mineral and lemon zest.  Delicious!

"The 2014 Chardonnay Watson Ranch is deep and intense, with distinctive floral and savory notes that flesh out as the wine shows off its ample frame. Dried apricot and chamomile add further shades of dimension. These vines, planted on clay over limestone yield an especially generous style of Chardonnay within the Arnot-Roberts style."  Vinous (Galloni) 92 points

Kistler Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain 2014 Product #31070 (In Stock)
Kistler Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain 2014 Kistler Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain 2014

The new release of this American classic is a big, expressive, wine that shows plenty of citrus, orchard fruit, and fresh butter before coming together nicely on the brisk, focused, finish. As the winery says, "Our two vineyards perched in the hills above the Sonoma valley, one in the Mayacama range to the west and one on Sonoma Mountain to the east both produce elegant, lifted wines that speak to the elevated nature of the plantings and the remarkable, well drained volcanic soils present at both sites."

Ferren Chardonnay Silver Eagle 2014 Product #31374 (In Stock)
Ferren Chardonnay Silver Eagle 2014 Ferren Chardonnay Silver Eagle 2014

Matt Courtney spent the past 8 years making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer at their legendary Marcassin estate where he created a string of 95-100 point wines.  Here, he applies what he learned to fruit grown by Ulises Valdez, the diminutive Mexican immigrant who is now one of the greatest Chardonnay farmers in the New World (Peter Michael, Aubert, and DuMol are all clients).  And that fruit comes from a great site on the Sonoma Coast/Russian River border and the marvelous 2014 vintage – a year perhaps even better for Chardonnay than 2012 or 2013.

Of course, what you really care about is what’s in your glass.  And what you’ll find here is simply breathtaking.  Just released, it’s very young and needs a little air to really get started.  Then “explosive” is the word:  bold aromas and flavors of white peach, yellow pear, nectarine, butterscotch, toasted marshmallow and smoke that fill your glass and coat your palate with outstanding intensity.  It’s rich for sure, but there’s enough Granny Smith apple freshness to provide lift and freshness to the palate and the finish that just never wants to quit.  If you wish you’d bought Aubert, Peter Michael, Kongsgaard or Kistler’s single-vineyard Chardonnays when you had the chance – before wines became allocated and the retail prices simply silly – then, please, do not miss this wine.
