Terre Scaligere Pinot Grigio 2013 Product #28540 (In Stock)
Terre Scaligere Pinot Grigio 2013 Terre Scaligere Pinot Grigio 2013

This Pinot Grigio from Italy's Veneto region really delivers for summer refreshment.  Aromas of Meyer lemon, ripe pears, and white flowers entice you to take a sip.  On the palate, there's enough richness to stand up to food, but it finishes snappy and clean, with those juicy pear flavors continuing on the finish.  A great value!

Dal Maso Chardonnay Frizzante NV Product #28391 (In Stock)
Dal Maso Chardonnay Frizzante NV Dal Maso Chardonnay Frizzante NV

Nothing serious here, unless you're looking for some serious fun.  The Dal Maso family makes some fine, complex, and serious wines from their vineyards in Italy's Veneto region - this ain't one of them.  It's 100% Chardonnay, lightly pressed, fermented dry, and then allowed to capture some dissolved CO2 in stainless steal tanks before bottling.  The result is basically as smile in a bottle - crackling fresh Chardonnay fruit (apple, peach, pear) with a touch of citrus and a delightful dose of fizz. Chill it down and enjoy.

Villa Brunesca Pinot Grigio 2013 Product #28712 (In Stock)
Villa Brunesca Pinot Grigio 2013 Villa Brunesca Pinot Grigio 2013

Grown on the plains north of Venice, this is a rich, creamy, Grigio with lots of depth to the lightly candied pear and salty caramel flavors.  Ripe pear features prominently in the nose and on the palate, with plenty of spicy pear and nectarine fruit lingering at the end.  A powerhouse, zesty, Pinot Grigio that will sing with Thai or Indian food.

Corte Sant' Alda Valpolicella Ca' Fiui 2010 Product #26209 (In Stock)
Corte Sant' Alda Valpolicella Ca' Fiui 2010 Corte Sant' Alda Valpolicella Ca' Fiui 2010

Not sure I fully understand the "only" 88 point rating here, but the tasting note from WA is spot on.  As pure and delicious a Valpolicella as I've ever had from someone not named Quintarelli.

"Proprietor Marinella Camerani can be counted on for wines of true character and personality. Organic farming and minimal handling in the cellar are some of the core principles that inform the house style at Corte Sant’Alda. The 2010 Valpolicella Ca’ Fiui is a delicious wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the fruit remains vibrant and vinous. Sweet red berries, flowers and spices linger on the juicy finish. This is a gorgeous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015."Wine Advocate 88 points

Corte Adami Valpolicella Superiore 2010 Product #26892 (In Stock)
Corte Adami Valpolicella Superiore 2010 Corte Adami Valpolicella Superiore 2010

An "old school" Valpolicella from a fairly young estate (2004).  A blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes from 40 year-old vines done all in tank, this features ripe black cherry fruit flavors and aromas with a dash of fresh, resiny, pine and herb. With a little air, the fruit gets darker and spicier and a lovely dried tobacco note emerges.  Juicy and lightly tannic, this will work extremely well at table.

Accordini Amarone Classico Le Bessole 2007 Product #28610 (In Stock)
Accordini Amarone Classico Le Bessole 2007 Accordini Amarone Classico Le Bessole 2007

Randy dubbed this “the bikini Amarone” – not because it looks good in a small, two-piece, swimsuit but because it’s a rare, classicly-styled, Amarone that you’ll enjoy with powerfully flavored summer foods as much as you will with winter braises and stews.  It’s got all the power and structure you’d expect from Amarone to go along with spicy dark fruits like dried cranberry, currants, cherries, and more.  But, instead of the plodding heaviness, prune-like flavors, and vinegar-like volatile acidity Amarone can fall prey to, this is fresh, clean, and very pure.  Spicy fruit, chocolaty richness, and an intense, spicy, and dry finish make this a great match for grilled pork tenderloin, baby back ribs, or even a well-marbled steak.  Compare it to wine costing $50-$75 or more – you’ll be convinced!

“This dense and concentrated Amarone offers an intense bouquet of marinated cherry, blackberry and tobacco. The palate delivers rich flavors of blackberry, prune, licorice and a touch of carob, along with round tannins and soft acidity. It has layers of flavor and nice depth. Drink through 2017.”Wine Enthusiast 92 points

La Giaretta Amarone Della Valpolicella 2010 Product #28043 (In Stock)
La Giaretta Amarone Della Valpolicella 2010 La Giaretta Amarone Della Valpolicella 2010

A fantastic value in classically styled Amarone that has all the heft and richness you could want but that stays food friendly and easy to drink, too.  Aromas and flavors center on the dark black fruit, licorice, and leather notes with accents of bitter chocolate and smoke emerging with air.  There's a touch of new oak still present, so decant for 30 minutes or cellar for a while to let everything integrate.  Excellent.
