Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014 Product #30629 (In Stock)
Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014 Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014

A really charming and delicious Chardonnay from just outside Charlottesville, this is all estate grown fruit aged in tank and a mix of French, American, and Hungarian oak. Punches all the Chardonnay buttons - crisp apple, ripe pear, toasted hazelnut, and just a kiss of oak - but isn't buttery or heavy at just 12.5% abv.  Finishes with fine energy and a touch of sweet spice.

Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2014 Product #30274 (In Stock)
Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2014 Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2014

A fine follow-up to the Wine Advocate 90 point 2013 - that review is on point here, too: "Fresh, lively, reasonably dense and aromatic, this is completely charming and it comes in at a nice price. The fruit is flavorful on the finish and there is a hint of lemon around the edges. It seems rather lively in its youth. Don't hesitate to dive in–but it will drink great for several years, too."

Glen Manor Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Product #31061 (In Stock)
Glen Manor Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Glen Manor Sauvignon Blanc 2015

As we've said for years, the best SB in the state here.

"The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is unoaked, bone dry and comes in at 13.8% alcohol. Sourced from 20-year-old vines, it had no malolactic fermentation. Glen Manor was my favorite Virginia Sauv Blanc producer on my first look at VA wines. This is no different. It is serious Sauv Blanc, focused and penetrating, with all of those veggie notes on the finish, a hint of asparagus and broccoli. Yet, it does manage to keep it under control and it is also elegantly crafted. If you're a Sauv Blanc hater--yes, I can't believe those exist, either!--you won't like it. But others will find this beautifully crafted, solid, fresh and appropriately pungent. There is less grass on the nose than green on the palate. That's the style. It is very fine in that style. I really liked the winery's reds this issue, the best group I've seen. This is arguably still their best wine and one of Virginia's best Sauvignon Blancs."Wine Advocate 91 points

Glen Manor T. Ruth Red Blend 2012 Product #28393 (In Stock)
Glen Manor T. Ruth Red Blend 2012 Glen Manor T. Ruth Red Blend 2012

One of Virginia's most decorated winemakers, Jeff White, tries something new - a "Right Bank" style Bordeaux blend to complement the former Governor's Cup winning "Left Bank" Hodder Hill.  It's a blend of 57% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon from the outstanding 2012 harvest.  Plenty of rich, plummy, blackcurrant and berry fruit to go with notes of crushed herb, smoke and bitter chocolate.  Drink it now with lamb or rich beef or age it for a few years for more complexity.

Barboursville Octagon Meritage 2013 Product #31067 (In Stock)
Barboursville Octagon Meritage 2013 Barboursville Octagon Meritage 2013

The red that put Virginia on the wine map!

"The 2013 Octagon is a blend of 55% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 17% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in French oak (40% new, the rest second use). This returns Octagon (after the 2012) to something resembling a more normal blend and to form. It seems lovely and then some. The mid-palate finesse is a winery hallmark. It is gorgeously constructed, with impeccable balance and a nice finish. It has that Old World feel of refinement (forgive the stereotype), but it is also bursting with fresh, young fruit flavor. I'm not sure I've seen an Octagon with more delicious fruit. This is surprisingly approachable, though, with very moderate tannins. An hour or so of aeration in the glass brings it around pretty well. Another thirty minutes finds it to be drinking great."Wine Advocate 89 points

Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2011 Product #31031 (In Stock)
Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2011 Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2011

An exciting chance to try one of Virginia’s very best reds – actually, one of the best on the whole East Coast!  While the Lost Mountain bottling is better still, it’s also twice as much.  Give this an hour of air or up to 10 years in cellar.

“59% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot. Mid to dark crimson. Fresh and appetising on the nose but just a little grainy and skinny. The oak is pushing through the fruit at the moment. It is appetizing and reminds me of a very well-groomed St-Émilion. Good savoury finish but just a bit gawky at the moment.”  Jancis Robinson 16+/20
