St Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs Vyd Willamette 2011 Product #26628 (In Stock)
St Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs Vyd Willamette 2011 St Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs Vyd Willamette 2011

A very fine vintage for this always popular Pinot Gris from Mark Vlossak. Mark tries for an Alsace-styled Pinot Gris, blending richness with a dry, crisp, finish.  The 2011 is more concentrated and expressive than last year's 2010, with aromas of apricot, peach blossom, passion fruit and a touch of spice.  In the mouth it's dry and bright with notes of pear, apricot, lime and hints of honey and toast.  Finishes dry, and clean with bright peach flavors lingering nicely.  Great with a wide range of meals and an elegant choice for Holiday parties.

Left Coast Cellars Pinot Gris The Orchard 2011 Product #25938 (In Stock)
Left Coast Cellars Pinot Gris The Orchard 2011 Left Coast Cellars Pinot Gris The Orchard 2011

Left Coast Cellars' Luke McCollom makes wines with big flavors and rich textures, and that certainly includes this Pinot Gris.  Aroams of ripe pear and a touch of pineapple lead to a creamy palate featuring crunchy pear and citrus fruit and a hint of cream.  A creamy, well-concentrated, wine that gets a lift of juicy citrus and green pineapple on the crisp finish.  Very yummy.

Cristom Pinot Noir Willamette Mt. Jefferson 2010 375ml Cristom Pinot Noir Willamette Mt. Jefferson 2010 375ml

Another winner from one of Oregon's best. As always, a bit of whole-cluster fruit adds complexity, as does 23 months in barrel (about 25% new).  Lovely.

"Light, bright red. Red berry and floral scents are complemented by cinnamon and black tea. Racy and light on its feet, offering vibrant redcurrant and strawberry flavors and a touch of bitter herbs. Finishes tangy and lucid, leaving spice and floral notes behind."International Wine Cellar 90 points

St Innocent Pinot Blanc Freedom Hill Vyd Willamette 2011 Product #26888 (In Stock)
St Innocent Pinot Blanc Freedom Hill Vyd Willamette 2011 St Innocent Pinot Blanc Freedom Hill Vyd Willamette 2011

Owner/winemaker Mark Vlossak created this wine so he'd have something perfect to drink with fresh Dungeness crab, and while it does other things well, it's really brilliant with seafood. Aromas of pineapple, white peach and apricot lead to a fresh, vibrant, mouthful of white fruits, spice and mineral.  Round and minerally textured, it finishes with just the right squirt of acidity.  Ceviche, shellfish, or even fish tacos all work beautifully.

J. Christopher Sauvignon Blanc Willamette Valley 2011 Product #26444 (In Stock)
J. Christopher Sauvignon Blanc Willamette Valley 2011 J. Christopher Sauvignon Blanc Willamette Valley 2011

If you could grow and make dry Sauvignon Blanc along the steep, slatey, hills of Germany’s Mosel River, this is what it would taste like.  Lot's of acidity here - just how Jay Somers likes it! - so pair with cheeses and salads.  Redolent with pepeprmint, citrus, and passion fruit aromas and flavors, it's very bright and mouthwateringly juicy.  Notes of slate and lemon drop come up on the long, zesty, finish.  Powerful and very, very, good.

Biggio Hamina Pinot Noir Zenith Vyd 2009 Product #26310 (In Stock)
Biggio Hamina Pinot Noir Zenith Vyd 2009 Biggio Hamina Pinot Noir Zenith Vyd 2009

Todd Hamina’s Zenith Vineyard Pinot takes the basic structure of his Willamette Valley 2009 and adds more concentrated fruit, complexity, and polish. The excitement here is the contrast of the powerful structure and the ethereal weight and flavors.  As IWC says, “power and vivacity.”  This will be outstanding with duck or salmon right now and get earthier and richer in the cellar.

"All Dijon clone 777; 45% whole clusters and 20% new oak. Bright red. Intense, spice-accented aromas of strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb, with a floral overtone. Juicy and precise, offering vibrant red fruit flavors that pick up smokiness and depth with air. Closes on a bitter cherry note, with impressive cut and lingering floral character. I really like this wine's precision and its blend of power and vivacity."International Wine Cellar 92 points

Ken Wright Pinot Noir Shea Vyd 2011 375ml Product #26569 (In Stock)
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Shea Vyd 2011 375ml Ken Wright Pinot Noir Shea Vyd 2011 375ml

Wine Advocate has suggested that Shea is the Willamette Valley’s one potential “superstar” vineyard and Ken makes the benchmark wine from this famous site.  Ken uses fruit from three different blocks in the vineyard, two planted to Dijon 114 and one to Dijon 777 clones. Shea Vineyard gives black/red fruit - especially blueberry - but with more spice and earth than other Yamhill-Carlton wines.  Always a fine marriage of ripe fruit and juicy, fresh, texture, this usually wants a few years in cellar to show its best. Ken pretty much made the reputation of this vineyard, and it's always one of his most powerful, concentrated, wines.

J. Christopher Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2010 Product #27029 (In Stock)
J. Christopher Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2010 J. Christopher Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2010

One of our very favorite Oregon Pinot producers had a break-out year with his 2009s - 94 point ratings all over the place - and is continuing without breaking stride in 2010.  Jay Somers wants to offer a Burgundian take on Oregon Pinot, and this lithe (just 13% abv) but ripe multi-vineyard cuvee is just that.  Broad, rich, and velvety and with generous black-tinged fruit (Oregon),  but also juicy, mineral, and smoky (Burgundy).  Delicious now and better still in 2014-2016.

Amalie Robert Chardonnay Heirloom Cameo 2009 Product #25705 (In Stock)
Amalie Robert Chardonnay Heirloom Cameo 2009 Amalie Robert Chardonnay Heirloom Cameo 2009

Amalie Robert's first attempt at a wooded Chardonnay is a beauty. You'll find the richness and creamy texture you'd expect from a barrel fermented and aged Chardonnay along with fine cut and crispness that comes from blocking malolactic fermentation.  A Chassagne-Montrachet style with fine aromatics and great length.

"A flinty scent of seashells enlivens golden delicious apple aromas in this lean, bequiling white. It has a voluptuous texture, with juicy pear flavors supported by a clean mineral line. That mineral foundation focuses it through long finish. For roast cod."Wine Enthusiast 93 points

Ayoub Pinot Noir Briittan Vineyard 2011 Product #26946 (In Stock)
Ayoub Pinot Noir Briittan Vineyard 2011 Ayoub Pinot Noir Briittan Vineyard 2011

Former winemaker/GM at Napa’s Stags’ Leap Winery Robert Brittan makes Mo Ayoub’s wines and also supplies a little fruit for Ayoub from his own rocky, windswept, vineyard in McMinville.  While the flavors are dark and rich here, the high acidity and small-berry intensity make this more lifted and bright than the Estate Pinot.

“The 2011 Brittan Vineyard Pinot Noir is an intense, dark, rich yet silky Pinot Noir.  On the nose, stony minerality envelops aromas of crushed blueberries, blackberries, dried cherries and allspice.  The bright palate is rich with blueberries, cranberry, chocolate covered cherries and licorice. Slate minerality persists on the extremely long finish. The 2011 Brittan Pinot Noir was aged for 11 month in 30% new and 70% older French oak barrels.  It will benefit from time in the cellar and has potential to age for 12+ years. 13.0% alcohol.”  Winemaker Notes

Sineann Pinot Noir Resonance Vyd WV 2010 Product #25365 (In Stock)
Sineann Pinot Noir Resonance Vyd WV 2010 Sineann Pinot Noir Resonance Vyd WV 2010

An exciting follow-up to the WS 94 point and Top 100 2009 Resonance Pinot from Sineann.  The 2010 is a structured, but elegant, wine that already shows layered red fruit and spice flavors with just the right touch of mushroomy earth.  Winemaker Peter Rossback believes this will be longer-lived than the 2009 and could ultimately be one of his best Pinots ever from this site – saying something for a wine that’s scored 94 points or more 3 times in the past 10 years!

Amalie Robert Pinot Noir The Estate 2007 Product #25737 (In Stock)
Amalie Robert Pinot Noir The Estate 2007 Amalie Robert Pinot Noir The Estate 2007

Ernie and Dena’s first Pinot love was a bottle of Dujac and their winemaking mentor was Cristom’s Steve Doerner.  You’ll find both of those influences here.  Partial whole cluster fermentation adds structure and exotic spice to the dark red fruit flavors and a little bulk to the fine, firm, tannins.  This will continue to unfurl over the next few years, but would be a stunner with duck and cherry sauce tonight!

“Vivid red. Exotically spiced red berry and cherry aromas are complicated by notes of cola, sassafras, star anise and cinnamon. Juicy, impressively precise red fruit flavors are framed by silky tannins and lifted by a zesty suggestion of blood orange. Fine-grained and lithe, leaving sweet red fruit and candied floral notes behind. This sexy wine is drinking very well today but is balanced to reward another five years of aging.”International Wine Cellar 91 points

Beaux Freres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2011 Product #26926 (In Stock)
Beaux Freres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2011 Beaux Freres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2011

Another stunning release from one of Oregon's top Pinot Producers in the tricky 2011 vintage.  A blend of fruit from top vineyards - Shea, Guadolupe, and Beaux Freres' own Upper Terrace - this pure, layered, Pinot Noir is already wide open and ready to enjoy.  Generous aromas and flavors of dark cherry, black raspberry, Asian spice, and damp fresh earth.  Wonderful purity and transparency here, but plenty of intensity and a nice wisp of tannin and bright acids make this a great choice for drinking now, pairing with salmon and earthy foods, or even aging for 3-5 years.  A beauty.

Ayoub Pinot Noir Estate 2011 Product #26945 (In Stock)
Ayoub Pinot Noir Estate 2011 Ayoub Pinot Noir Estate 2011

From Mo Ayoub’s tiny (4 acre) estate vineyard, just east of Archery Summit's Red Hills Estate, in the Dundee Hills.  Mo planted these steeply sloped, southeast facing, red volcanic soils in 2001 and has tended them by hand, without chemicals, ever since.  Red fruit from red soils are typical of the Dundee Hills, but this level of refinement and purity remain rare.  Wine Spectator has rated every vintage from this distinctive vineyard 90 – 93 points (93 points each of the last 3 vintages), using adjectives like “stylish”, “silky”, “supple”, and “expressive.”  “Gets better with each sip” concluded the review of the 2010.

“The 2011 Ayoub Estate Pinot Noir has a perfumed nose loaded with complex red fruits, savory notes, damp earth and cigar box.   The palate is a seamless mesh of velvety tannins with vibrant acidity and undulating layers of Raspberries, pomegranate, strawberries, spice notes and minerality.   This wine has great balance and it is a beautiful expression of Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.  The 2011 Ayoub Estate Pinot Noir was aged for 11 month in 35% new and 65% older French oak barrels.   It is a crime to drink this wine young!  Best from 2014 and has the potential to age for 10+ years. 13.0% alcohol.”  Winemaker Notes
