Valminor Albarino Rias Baixas 2012 Product #28077 (In Stock)
Valminor Albarino Rias Baixas 2012 Valminor Albarino Rias Baixas 2012

A clean, sea breeze, Alabrino with tangy fruit - green melon, apricot, passionfruit and pink grapefruit - with accents of lime zest and green apple.  The fruit is attractive, but the real story here is the zesty, salty, almost seltzery minerality the comes up in the mid-palate and flows across the mouthwatering, saline, finish.  You'll love having a cold glass of this great value at your side while hiding in the shade from a hot summer sun, but it will shine even more with steamed shrimp, clams, or mussles, grilled sardines, or any dish that makes you think of the sea.

"BEST BUY! A yellow straw color. On the nose, the wine shows intense fruity aromas of fresh grapefruit, apricot and melon. In the mouth, Valmiñor combines fruity flavors and freshness with a rounded acidity, resulting in a balanced wine that boasts an opulent taste with elegant aromas and slight spritziness."Wine & Spirits 92 points

Pazo De Valei Albarino Rias Baixas 2012 Product #28274 (In Stock)
Pazo De Valei Albarino Rias Baixas 2012 Pazo De Valei Albarino Rias Baixas 2012

A delicious Albarino that brings out the riper, more stone fruit-inflected characteristics of the grape.  The aromas are almost perfumey, with peaches and fragrant white flowers inviting you to take a sip.  On the palate, flavors of peaches, apricots and a touch of minerality feel round and satisfying, but the wine finishes clean and dry.  A great solo sipper for warm weather.

Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino Rias Baixas 2013 Product #28410 (In Stock)
Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino Rias Baixas 2013 Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino Rias Baixas 2013

It's not surprising that Palacio de Fifianes makes such outstanding wine - they've been at it since 1904!  The grapes grow on granite-laced soils in the Salnes Valley area of Rías Baixas. This is the "green" corner of Spain, with moisture, fog and cool temperatures blowing in regularly off the nearby Atlantic Ocean. The tang of the sea is in the air and on every table, where some of the world's best and freshest seafood takes center stage.  Not surprisingly, you'll find that same hint of brine in this delicious, all tank, Albarino.

Albarino isn't always aromatic, so the lovely scents of ripe citrus, pear, honeysuckle and white pepper are especially delightful here.  The flavors are just as lovely, with layers of orange, lime, apricot, and green apple fruit bursting across your palate and gaining complexity from dashes of fennel frond, white pepper, and salty sea shell minerality.  It's a vigorous, energetic, wine that keeps on pumping out delicious layers of flavor across a very long, mouthwatering, finish.  Well worth popping a bottle just to drink but it would be a shame not to enjoy it with briny shrimp or clams.

Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino 1583 Rias Baixas 2013 Product #28665 (In Stock)
Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino 1583 Rias Baixas 2013 Palacio De Fefinanes Albarino 1583 Rias Baixas 2013

Current owner Juan Gil de Araujo Gonzales de Careaga created this unique and luxurious Albarino as an homage to Gonzalo Sarmiento Valladares, Viscount of Fefinanes, who was born in 1583 and built the castle that holds today’s winery in the early 1600s. You’ll find plenty of classic Albarino fruit, minerality, and freshness here but also another layer of complexity and interest from careful fermentation and brief aging in wood cask.

The aromas here are compelling - spicy, lightly smoky, scents of apricot, pear, orange and honeydew melon with touches of creamy vanilla and anise.  Fantastic balance in the mouth with a core of sliced lime, peach, and apricot fruit surrounded by just a bare hint of oak and loads of saline mineral.  The finish is super detailed, precise, and long with wood grilled fruit and zesty lemon-lime acidity sailing on and on.  As Wine Advocate said of the 2011, "Albarino from Rias Baixas does not come much better than this."
