14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Product #28121 (In Stock)

A perennial "Best Seller" in restaurants, and a very fine value in Washington Cabernet. 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of red currants and raspberries with subtle hints of spice. Spiced cherry & plum flavors are joined by notes of cocoa and complemented by fine velvety tannins. A little Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot help drive the fruit forward and keep things soft and lush.

Hedges CMS Red 2011 Product #27560 (In Stock)
Hedges CMS Red 2011 Hedges CMS Red 2011

Washington state winery has its roots in Old-World winemaking, eschews scores, and is all about showcasing the potential of the terroir in Washington. Devoid of flash, pretention, or inflated prices, this winery represents the kind of honest winemaking and independent spirit that we love to support.  It doesn't hurt that the wine's delicious!

In 2011, the CMS is once again a blend of Cabernet and Merlot with a dash of Syrah. You'll find plenty of dark fruit, earth, and baking spices on the nose. On the palate the fruit flavors are even richer and more satisfying than last year, but the structure and juicy acidity keeps it all in balance. A screaming value that's fabulous for a grilled steak or a big, juicy burger!

Thurston Wolfe Cabernet Sauvignon "the Teacher" 2011 Product #27538 (In Stock)
Thurston Wolfe Cabernet Sauvignon Thurston Wolfe Cabernet Sauvignon

The undisputed “Ugliest Label In the Store” award winner is actually a terrific bottle of Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. As Wine Advocate said, “Thurston Wolfe is an artisanal producer of wines with personality. The production of these wines ranges from 48 cases to 588 cases so interested parties are advised to get on the mailing list.”

The 2011 is 100% Cabernet from three vineyard’s in the famous Horse Heaven Hills region, The Teacher gets 21 months in French, American and Hungarian oak to smooth out any rough edges.  The aromas are big and complex: grilled bread, pencil lead, Asian spice, violets, and loads of dark black fruit.  Then, a big mouthful of ripe black fruits and oak spice in a full bodied, rich, package.  Nicely ripe and firm tannin give support and make this a great choice for anything roasted or grilled.

Nxnw Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2011 Product #27760 (In Stock)
Nxnw Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2011 Nxnw Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2011

Another fine vintage for King Estate’s Columbia Valley venture, NxNW.  Sourced from seven different vineyards across Colombia Valley (check out the label for details!) and blended from 86% Cabernet, 12% Merlot and a touch of Malbec.

A big, rich, bottle of Cab with dark aromas of cedar, baking spice, black currant, blackberry, herb and incense leading to a rich, layered, palate loaded with fruit and spice.  A dark chocolate note emerges on the back and carries through to the long, ripe, finish.  A wine to drink now with a steak but certainly able to improve with short-term cellaring.  Excellent value.

Efeste keeps turning out fascinating, delicious, and wonderfully food-friendly wines from their vineyards in Washington's Columbia Valley.  Final Final is one of the few blended wines they make, a marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Syrah (42%), and Mouvedre (2%).  Cab provides the backbone of the wine, delivering structure, power, and black currant fruit.  The Syrah adds juicy black fruits and a touch of spice.  Even this tiny bit of Mouvedre delivers more spice and fantastic earthy note.  At only 13.3% ABV, this is fresh and bright as well as rich and deep.  Fantastic steak and grilled meat wine!
