The Royal Chenin Blanc 2014 Product #29578 (In Stock)
The Royal Chenin Blanc 2014 The Royal Chenin Blanc 2014

Robert Parker called the 90 point 2013 release, "One of the greatest buys I have tasted this year."  The 2014 is better.  Gorgeous aromas and flavors of fresh flowers, green melon, crisp pear, and a touch of orange citrus are framed by bright, clean, acids.  Juicy, fruity, crisp and dry, there's enough body here to pair this with pretty much anything you'd care to eat.  Or, just pour a glass and sip it by yourself or with friends

Caves De Saumur Blanc Les Pouches Chenin Blanc 2013 Caves De Saumur Blanc Les Pouches Chenin Blanc 2013

A lovely example of dry Chenin Blanc from Saumur, in the Loire Valley.  From a small vineyard of sandy, silty, clay over limestone, this delivers intnese aromas and flavors of white orchard fruit, white flowers, and lemon/lime zest.  Mouthwatering but very generous, it finishes with a squirt of lemon, green peach, and dusty mineral. A fine summer sipper and fantastic with white fleshed fish.

Dom Des Baumard Savennieres 2011 Product #29597 (In Stock)
Dom Des Baumard Savennieres 2011 Dom Des Baumard Savennieres 2011

Savennieres, just across the river from the sweet wine region of Cote du Layon, is one of world's greatest sites for rich, wildly complex, and utterly dry Chenin Blanc.  This is a brilliant introduction to the delights of Savennieres, bursting with waxy peach fruit and finishing with complex minerality.

"This has a nice caressing feel, with quince, Anjou pear, crème fraîche and green plum notes that all glide through the pure, minerally-framed finish. An echo of quinine adds length. Drink now through 2016."Wine Spectator 90 points

Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011 Product #28429 (In Stock)
Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011 Dom Des Baumard Coteaux Du Layon Carte d'Or 2011

A brilliant late-harvest Chenin that crackles with energy - drink with almond desserts or on it's own.

"This selection of grapes from old vines is presented as the least sweet and the lightest of Baumard\'s late-harvest wines. It\'s clean and dynamic, a heady, layered chenin with scents of jasmine, orange and apple butter. The juiciness comes up against soil-inflected acidity, a fine, sandy grit to ameliorate the sweetness. Pour it with a savory almond torte."Wine & Spirits 93 points

"The acidity is almost shocking, cutting through the richness of the wine. Its sweet apple and lemon flavors balance the honey and maple syrup notes. The wine is still young, demanding aging over a decade at least. beautifully ripe. Screwcap." Wine Enthusiast 92 points

Dom Des Baumard Savennieres Clos Du Papillon 2009 Product #29701 (In Stock)
Dom Des Baumard Savennieres Clos Du Papillon 2009 Dom Des Baumard Savennieres Clos Du Papillon 2009

Dry Chenin from a famous Savennières vineyard named for it's butterfly ("Papillon")shape.

"Shaped like a butterfly (papillon), this vineyard is one of the best known in Savennières. It is very rich and ripe, from a warm vintage. With its apricot and pear flavors and opulent texture, it brings out the potential of Chenin Blanc. So age this wine for 5–6 years more."Wine Enthusiast 93 points

"Captivating, with a lively quinine streak leading the way, followed by Jonagold apple, honeysuckle, green almond and plantain notes that race through the pure, mineral-driven finish. Intense, with enough in reserve to warrant cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2020."Wine Spectator 93 points

Dom Huet Vouvray Demi-sec Le Mont 2007 Product #27384 (In Stock)
Dom Huet Vouvray Demi-sec Le Mont 2007 Dom Huet Vouvray Demi-sec Le Mont 2007

A great demi-sec from Vouvray's best estate that's right in the heart of its drinking window.  Fantastic acidity and energy, juicy sweet/sour fruit, and complex notes of dried caramel and spice.

"Lush tangerine, pear and floral scents are complemented by dusty minerals, a hint of honey and green tea. Pliant, expansive citrus and candied flower flavors offer an alluring blend of richness and vivacity, with a sneaky honeycomb quality gaining strength in the glass. Fairly open-knit but focused as well; I'd hold onto this silky midweight for another few years or give it an hour in a decanter."International Wine Cellar 91 points

Dom Des Baumard Quarts De Chaume 2010 Product #29700 (In Stock)
Dom Des Baumard Quarts De Chaume 2010 Dom Des Baumard Quarts De Chaume 2010

"Unctuous, concentrated and refined, this holds a large core of quince, creamed Anjou pear and white ginger notes in reserve for now, while heather, chamomile, orange blossom and white peach flavors take the lead. When the reserves stretch out and catch up with the floral accents, this will be a pure, precise stunner, with a long life. Best from 2018 through 2035."Wine Spectator 96 points
