- Oddero Dolcetto d'Alba 2011 Product #26727 (In Stock)
This beautiful Dolcetto has just gotten better and better with a little time in bottle. Big aromas of licorice, lavender, black cherry and plum, nutmeg and anise. In the mouth, cherry and black raspberry fruit gushes across your palate with spice and flower-like anise notes adding complexity. The finish is mouthwateringly juicy with supple tannins and suggestions of sandalwood and bitter almond lingering nicely. Just yummy, lovely, stuff.
"This red bursts with juicy cherry, raspberry and a touch of black pepper. Reveals some serious tannins underneath for support. Drink now through 2015.”Wine Spectator 89 points
- Pecchenino Dolcetto Di Dogliani San Luigi 2012 Product #27733 (In Stock)
Another fine vintage for this rock-solid Dolectto that sings with pizza, pasta, and grilled fish. It's racy and taught with intense tangy raspberry and wild cherry aromas and flavors and just a touch of licorice. Solid grip on the finish where a hint of herb tea shows through. Not much comes into the US (less than 500 cases), so grab it while you can!
"This lovely Dolcetto is delicious, fresh and utterly drinkable. It has a classic fragrance of strawberry, cherry and licorice, all of which carry over to the palate, along with earthy notes and a hint of almond. Made to be enjoyed young, this pairs perfectly with pasta dishes and pizza."Wine Enthusiast 90 points
"The beautifully defined black cherry and black pepper flavors are matched to a firm backbone of tannins in this dense red. A serious Dolcetto, with depth and length. Drink now through 2017. 3,900 cases made."Wine Spectator 90 points
- Massolino Dolcetto D' Alba 2012 Product #28535 (In Stock)
As you’ll see from this set of excellent reviews, Massolino’s 2012 Dolcetto d’Alba is a beauty – a kind of elevated weeknight wine for casual suppers that packs in enough class to break out on Saturday night with steak or stew, too. Delicious stuff!
"The 2012 Dolcetto d'Alba is drop-dead gorgeous. In this vintage, the Dolcetto is quite floral and feminine in personality, with fewer of the dark notes that are typical of this wine, yet all the elements come together with grace, finesse and pure deliciousness. Hints of tar, smoke and licorice wrap around the understated finish." Antonio Galloni 89 points
"Bright, deep red-ruby. Primary aromas of blackberry, blueberry, tart cherry and licorice. Sweet, intense black raspberry, black cherry and licorice flavors show good body and cut. Massolino removes 70% of the seeds during the fermentation to get rounder tannins. Finishes juicy, fruity and smooth."International Wine Cellar 89 points
