It’s hard to get excited about most Pinot Grigio at this price, but this crisp and lemony example from Fruili made us sit up and take notice. Pretty aromas of stone fruit, lemon zest, and a touch of mineral. In the mouth, fresh and bright with juicy flavors of cut apple, peach, lime and lemon and a mouthwatering, juicy, finish. Clean, bright, very refreshing - and great value!
- Kellerei Kaltern Caldaro Pinot Grigio 2011 Product #25887 (In Stock)

Easily the best sub-$25 Pinot Grigio we’ve tried in years, this is Pinot Grigio for folks who like flavor with their crisp, refreshing, whites. At once crisp and rich and bursting with bright green pear, apple, peach and citrus and a long, mouthwatering, saline-inflected finish. Not surprising that Wine Enthusiast named this #39 on their Top 100 Wine Values of 2012!
"This gorgeous Pinot Grigio displays the fresh aromatic fragrances associated with cool-climate, mountain winemaking. Layers of jasmine, tangerine, cut grass and white almond appear on the bouquet, giving this wine a delicate and feminine personality. A spicy touch of acidity drives the clean, bright finish."Wine Enthusiast 90 points
- Di Lenardo Pinot Grigio Fruili 2011 Product #26010 (In Stock)

The new vintage of one of our best selling party wines is here. As always, this is a light, fresh, take on Pinot Grigio that's loaded with apple, apricot, and apple fruit with accents of Acacia flower and a touch of almond. Juicy and fresh from front to back with nice, clean, acids and a lingering sense of almond blossom on the end. Fine value.
- Vinterra Pinot Gris Waipara Valley 2011 Product #26869 (In Stock)
-
-
A lovely example of the top-notch Alsace-style Pinot Gris being turned out in New Zealand these days - and great value! Aromas of peach, pear, and a hint of ginger. In the mouth, the fruit gets bigger and more ripe and the ginger more pronounced with a delicious squirt of juicy pear bringing up the rear. Enough acidity to sip anytime and fine ripeness to complement salty foods like ham.
- Villa Brunesca Pinot Grigio 2012 Product #27087 (In Stock)

New to us, but sure to become a customer favorite! Pinot Grigio grown on the plains north of Venice don't often yield this kind of character. It's a rich, creamy, Grigio with lots of depth to the lightly candied pear and salty caramel flavors. Ripe pear features prominently in the nose and on the palate, with plenty of spicy pear and nectarine fruit lingering at the end. A powerhouse Pinot Grigio that will sing with Indian or Thai food.
- Nals Margreid Pinot Grigio Punggl 2011 Product #26182 (In Stock)

A terrific follow-up to the Tanzer 92 point 2010. Unusually focused and precise for Pinot Grigio, it finishes brisk and strong with mouth-coating flavors. We think the Wine Enthusiast review says it all!
This is delightful, with amazing intensity and unique smoothness. Aromas of honey, peach and cantaloupe linger on the finish, with a fresh note of mountain flower. This is a simple wine, but a perfectly executed one. Wine Enthusiast 92 points
- St Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs Vyd Willamette 2011 Product #26628 (In Stock)

A very fine vintage for this always popular Pinot Gris from Mark Vlossak. Mark tries for an Alsace-styled Pinot Gris, blending richness with a dry, crisp, finish. The 2011 is more concentrated and expressive than last year's 2010, with aromas of apricot, peach blossom, passion fruit and a touch of spice. In the mouth it's dry and bright with notes of pear, apricot, lime and hints of honey and toast. Finishes dry, and clean with bright peach flavors lingering nicely. Great with a wide range of meals and an elegant choice for Holiday parties.
- Left Coast Cellars Pinot Gris The Orchard 2011 Product #25938 (In Stock)
-
-
Left Coast Cellars' Luke McCollom makes wines with big flavors and rich textures, and that certainly includes this Pinot Gris. Aroams of ripe pear and a touch of pineapple lead to a creamy palate featuring crunchy pear and citrus fruit and a hint of cream. A creamy, well-concentrated, wine that gets a lift of juicy citrus and green pineapple on the crisp finish. Very yummy.
- Elk Cove Pinot Gris Willamette Valley 2011 Product #25793 (In Stock)
-
-
A long-time staff and customer favorite, Elk Cove's Pinot Gris is always about ripe pear and apple fruit, subtle acacia flowers, and juicy lime acidity. At once creamy and juicy, this remains one of the most reliable - and delicious - Oregon Pinot Gris wines we know!
- Venica Pinot Grigio Collio Jesera 2012 Product #27078 (In Stock)
-
-
From one of Fruili's best-known estates, this comes mainly from the Jersera vineyard, Slovenian for the “little lake” found nearby. Especially this year, more concentration than you often find in Pinot Grigio with plenty of orchard fruits and juicy acidity. Just a hint of the ocean in the aromas and on the long and lovely finish, making this a killer match for fish and seafood.
- Elena Walch Pinot Grigio Castel Ringberg 2011 Product #26190 (In Stock)
-
-
Elena Walch has rapidly become one of the most respected winegrower/winemakers in Italy's Alto Adige, and the 2011 edition of her single vineyard Pinot Grigio clearly demonstrates why. Fruit from old vines in the Castel Ringberg vineyard are carefully ripened, hand picked, and vinified and aged in 100% stainless steel. Very fresh and captivating aromas of white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of anise. Then, sappy and full in the mouth with ripe peach, minerals, and notes of almond and anise on the finish. It’s complex, rich but still has plenty of juicy acidity and mineralty to work well with seafood and lighter poultry dishes.
- Sineann Pinot Gris Oregon 2012 Product #27150 (In Stock)
-
-
One of the very best Pinot Gris we've tasted in years, marrying the kind of oily richness we love in top Alsace Pinot Gris with racy, Pinot Grigio-like, acidity. Aromas and flavors feature ripe pear, citrus peel, kiwi fruit, and plenty of dusty mineral, all lifted by bracing lemon/grapefruit acidity. Intense, but not harsh, rich, but not heavy, it's a perfect match for Thai or Latin American food flavors. Or to just drink - really, really, good stuff.
- Trimbach Pinot Gris Cuvee Hommage A Jeanne 2000 Product #27027 (In Stock)
-
-
The tasting notes from Tanzer and Wine Advocate are accurate as far as they go, but at 13 years of age, this has gained even more layered complexity and depth than they suggest. Now, it’s outrageously complex on the nose with notes of dried tropical fruit, mushroom, rose petal, and caramelized apple. In the mouth it’s rich without heaviness, with complex flavors that are hard to describe – perhaps honeyed pear, dried papaya, white mushroom, toasted almond, and beeswax? The light sweetness is balanced by bright acidity and a broad swath of chalky, salty, minerality, and the finish goes on and on.
Don’t worry if it’s a bit musty or shows a lot of petrol character when you first open it. Let it breathe a bit or even decant it and watch it evolve as it warms from about 50 degrees to 65 degrees or so. A wine well worth a few hours of attention all on its own, but even better with foie gras paté, salmon (smoked, raw, or grilled), seared scallops, or – of course – a classic Alsatian onion tart.“Superripe but bright aromas of peach and honey. Very rich and honeyed; sweeter and less alcoholic than the Reserve Personnelle, and more easygoing at this early stage. Some of this fruit was picked very late, at VT weight. This very rich, long [Pinot Gris] makes the Reserve Personnelle seem almost riesling-like by comparison. Still, there only a moderate 19 grams/liter of residual sugar here.”International Wine Cellar 92 points
“The 2000 Pinot Gris Hommage a Jeanne was produced from a selection of Trimbach's best Pinot Gris parcels (all harvested at over 15% natural potential alcohol). It sports 25 grams per liter of dry extract and 19 grams per liter of residual sugar. While at most firms this wine would merit a Vendanges Tardives bottling, the Trimbachs chose to pay homage to Jeanne Trimbach, the mother of Bernard and Hubert [and grandmother of winemaker Pierre], who turned 100 in May 2000 and continues to drink Alsace's lovely nectars to this day. This gorgeous wine has mineral and smoke-imbued white peach aromas. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, dense, and rich. Layer after layer of apricot, poached pear, white peach, and spices can be found in its highly expressive, velvety-textured personality. It is an intensely concentrated, wonderfully balanced, fresh, and structured wine. Drink it between 2005 and 2018.”Wine Advocate 93 points
- Dom Weinbach Pinot Gris Altenbourg 2010 Magnum Product #26626 (In Stock)
-
-
A breathtaking example of Alsace Pinot Gris, rich but with the sweetness cut by laser-beam acidity. Brilliant.
"Bright yellow. Wild, exotic aromas of tropical fruits, apricot, caramelized pear and cinnamon apple. Silky, fat and sweet on entry, then racy acidity gives the mid-palate a firmer feel and more tension than the Cuvee Ste. Catherine bottling. Very concentrated pinot gris with a tactile, umami-like texture. A high-wire act of substantial sweetness (31.3 g/l) and brisk acidity (8 g/l). Finishes very long and pure, gaining in firmness with air."International Wine Cellar 91 points
"Layered flavors of apricot, almond, star fruit, spice and grapefruit zest mix in this silky white. It leans toward off-dry, but firm, well-meshed acidity and a zesty undercurrent of minerality keep it fresh and focused. Drink now through 2025."Wine Spectator 92 points
