Dr Loosen Dr L Riesling 2012 Product #27325 (In Stock)
Dr Loosen Dr L Riesling 2012 Dr Loosen Dr L Riesling 2012

Another fine vintage for one of Germany's best value - and most consistent - entry-level Rieslings.  As usual, rich and creamy with bright acidity underneath and plenty of apricot and fresh peach aromas and flavors.  Rich but not heavy and very easy to drink.

"A succulent white, filled with plush red peach, cherry and white currant flavors that are supported by zesty acidity. Long and creamy on the finish, offering plenty of spicy overtones. Impressive for the category. Drink now through 2016. 100,000 cases made."Wine Spectator 91 points

Klemens Weber Burrweiler Altenforst Riesling Halb 2012 (1.0l) Product #27941 (In Stock)

Good thing this comes in an extra-large bottle, because one taste of this fruity (and nearly dry!) Riesling and you’ll be ready to gulp it down.  Loads of classic pear and peach flavors accented by floral notes and a pretty lime skin element. Drink it on its own after a hard day of work or play or give it a try with turkey or ham or Asian foods.

Pewsey Vale Riesling 2013 Product #27969 (In Stock)
Pewsey Vale Riesling 2013 Pewsey Vale Riesling 2013

Yet another outstanding release of what has become the benchmark dry (bone dry, actually!) Riesling from Australia's Eden Valley.  Lemon peel, tangerine, lime and green apple aromas lead to a round, focused, mouthful of bright citrus, apple, and chalk dust flavors.  Mouthwatering and a touch nervy on the brisk finish but certainly not austere.  It's going to be another 90+ year once the critics catch up!

Dr Loosen Riesling Beerenauslese 2010 (187ml) Product #27834 (In Stock)
Dr Loosen Riesling Beerenauslese 2010 (187ml) Dr Loosen Riesling Beerenauslese 2010 (187ml)

Just the perfect size of this super sweet, super-delicious, late-harvest Riesling from vineyards along Germany's Mosel river.  If you like, you can share this tiny bottle among as many as 6 drinkers (but it would be a shame to stretch it that far!).

"Waxy lemon-rind and lanolin notes add earthy complexity to pretty white blossom aromas on this intensely fruity, floral Beerenauslese. It’s rich on the palate with concentrated peach preserve flavors, but piercing acidity makes it nervy and fresh. Honey and marmalade flavors extend long on the finish." Wine Enthusiast 93 points

Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kabinett 2011 Product #27419 (In Stock)
Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kabinett 2011 Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kabinett 2011

A rich Pfalz Kabinett at 12.5% abv and with a fair amount of residual sugar that retains enough acidity to stay fresh and pure.  Aromas of mint, orange blossom, citrus and sweet spice lead to a polished, pure, mouthful of ripe fruit with a hint of clove-like sweentess.  The lemony acidity and touch of slate on the back keep this balanced and gently mouthwatering.

Trimbach Riesling Reserve 2008 Product #27743 (In Stock)
Trimbach Riesling Reserve 2008 Trimbach Riesling Reserve 2008

Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2010!

A stunning introduction to Alsace Riesling, this is Trimbach's "middle" level wine.  Made from 40 year old vines from a non-Grand Cru site, this delivers  more complexity and depth than the regular Yellow label bottling and points to the greatness found in Cuvee Fred and Clos St. Hune.  Not sure why it's still around - but glad it is!

"A medium-bodied Riesling, structured with firm acidity and closely knit flavors of lemon peel, Granny Smith apple, lemongrass and stone. Shows good intensity, but in a well-honed package, with a lingering, smoky finish. Needs time in the cellar. Drink now through 2030."Wine Spectator 92 points

Klemens Weber Riesling Sekt Trocken 2011 Product #27798 (In Stock)
Klemens Weber Riesling Sekt Trocken 2011 Klemens Weber Riesling Sekt Trocken 2011

This is a seriously fun bottle of sparkling wine.  A single-vintage, dry sparkler made from 100% Riesling from Pfalz producer Klemens Weber, this party in a glass opens with aromas of golden apple and chammomile.  On the palate, it explodes with flavor: green apple, Honey Crisp, candied pineapple, on and on.  This would be great as an aperitif, but also with all kinds of pork-based fall dishes.

Monchhof Riesling Spatlese Mosel Slate 2011 Product #26413 (In Stock)
Monchhof Riesling Spatlese Mosel Slate 2011 Monchhof Riesling Spatlese Mosel Slate 2011

Another terrific vintage for this old-school  Mosel producer, Robert Eymael.  As you'd expect from a wine called "Slate", this delivers loads of stone and mineral flavors over ripe pear and Fuji apple fruit.  Definitely spatelese weight and richness here, but with vibrant, almost crunch, acidity and minerality on the long, savory, finish.

Dom Weinbach Riesling Reserve Personnelle 2012 Product #27967 (In Stock)
Dom Weinbach Riesling Reserve Personnelle 2012 Dom Weinbach Riesling Reserve Personnelle 2012

Early rains pushed yields down, but late summer sunshine made 2012 a very nice year for rich, mineral-driven, Rieslings like this one.  From biodynamic vineyards, Catherine Faller's entry-level Riesling is redolent of lime skin, ripe peach, apricot, fresh flowers and mouthwatering lemon/lime acidity.  Round and fully textured, this is delicious to drink and flexible at table.

Another gorgeous Riesling from a classic Mosel-Saar-Ruwer site, this snappy, fresh, wine has all the cut and drive you'd hope for in a top off-dry Riesling.

"A powerful white, featuring plenty of minerality and concentrated savory notes to the green apple, nectarine and spice flavors. Slate and smoke fill the rich, zesty finish. Drink now through 2026."Wine Spectator 92 points

Monchhof Riesling Auslese Erdener Pralat 2011 Monchhof Riesling Auslese Erdener Pralat 2011

Always one of our favorite Riesling producers, the 2011 Erdener Pralat Auslese is gorgeous as usual.  A bit softer than the 2010, the 2011 is all about dried pineapple, tropical fruit, and white flowers.  Just enough acidity to keep things in balance.  Delicious on its own or with pungent cheeses.

Kesselstatt Riesling Trocken Nies' Chen Gg Erste Lage 2010 Kesselstatt Riesling Trocken Nies' Chen Gg Erste Lage 2010

From one of the best sites in the Ruwer comes this bone dry, powerful Riesling.  Made dry to showcase the unique blue slate soils of this steep hillside, this crackles with aromas and flavors of crisp pineapple, peach, apricot and nectarine with accents of lime skin and slate.  Super concentrated and full, but with loads of racy acidity.  The palate and finish are long, long, long.

Dom Weinbach Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg SGN 2009 375ml Dom Weinbach Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg SGN 2009 375ml

Luxurious, intense, and nearly immortal.

"Bright, pale yellow-gold. Orange flower, strawberry and glazed kumquat on the enticing nose. Pure, palate-staining flavors of cinnamon apple, pear and tea leaf carry through to a very long, smooth aftertaste. The sugar/acid balance (136 g/l residual sugar and 7.25 g/l total acidity) is truly compelling. Great wine."International Wine Cellar 94 points
