This lovely Spanish Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with bold aromas of peach, apricot, passion fruit, and mango. In the mouth, it's at once bright and round and packed with orchard fruit, citrus, and green pineapple fruit and just the right dash of herb. Showy, but easygoing and very sippable, there's enough fruit here for New Zealand SB fans in a more relaxed, easy, package.

Allan Scott makes this cheerful (and cheap!) Sauvignon Blanc for a local distributor, and it's one of those unexpected winners that punch well above their weight. Another terrific release of our best-selling Bordeaux Blanc ever! A difficult vintage for reds, but just about perfect for whites, the 2012 harks back to 2009's richness and breadth. Aromas and flavors of white pineapple, honeysuckle, and orange zest in a round, wide-open, Sauvignon Blanc that finishes with a squirt of white grapefruit acid and a pleasant touch of citrus pith. The richness and round texture would make you think there's Semillon in there somewhere, but it's just 100% Sauvignon Blanc harvested at perfect ripeness. A great all-purpose white for parties, salads, fish, or just sipping on a warm afternoon.

Basically a “baby Sancerre”, this exciting young Sauvignon Blanc is grown on the same chalky slate soils you’ll find across Sancerre from 10-40 year-old vines, fermented in stainless steel and allowed to rest 3 months on the fine lees. The vineyard is located just outside the legal boundary of Sancerre, but the flavors make you feel right in the middle!
Generous, fresh, aromas of fresh flowers, just cut grass, white grapefruit, and a hint of wet stones burst from the glass. Then in your mouth this crisp, lithe, wine fairly vibrates with more citrus and green apple fruit, tangy gooseberry, and fresh grass. The acidity is refreshing, if a touch softer than last year, and the fruit flavors are juicy and bright. Served cold, it’s thirst quenching and refreshing. A Sauvignon Blanc this good from Carneros is pretty unusual, but “unusual” is what Tin Barn is all about. A sustainable wine grower/maker founded by the owner of Cliff House Restaurant in San Francisco, Tin Barn seeks out exciting wines from “off the map” in Northern California. This Sauv Blanc is a great intro to the house style.
The 2011 vintage picks up where the fine 2010 left off. It's brighter and more citric than the 2010, showing an even more deft use of barrel fermentation (for 20% of the juice) to add creamy accents to the grapefruit, lime, and green melon fruit. Still mouthfilling, this year's model snaps into mouthwatering focus on the driving finish where a touch of fresh jalepeno mingles with the melon, tangerine, and lemon/lime fruit. A fine sipper and great with any fish or poultry dish with lots of fresh herb.
