- Bodegas Naia Verdejo Rueda 2014 Product #29848 (In Stock)
Another great vintage for this benchmark Rueda Verdejo from old vines (30-90 years) with about 10% of the wine aged in French oak. Intense aromas of lemon, lime, smoky mineral and fresh herb lead to a mouthful of round orchard fruit - peach, apricot, yellow apple - with accents of fresh flowers and a touch of pear. Long on the palate and juicy finish where peach and pear skin notes linger nicely over citrusy acids.
"Pear and apple flavors mingle with toast and mineral notes in this polished, modern white, which shows depth and focus, with firm acidity and a smoky finish."Wine Spectator 89 points
- Castelo De Medina Verdejo Black Label Rueda 2013 Product #30481 (In Stock)
Simply superb Verdejo with at least two extra notches of class, style, and sophistication vs. most other examples we've tasted. After a cool fermentation - to preserve all the orange-inflected citrus and peach fruit - the wine spends 12 months resting on its fine lees in tank and neutral barrel. Big aromas of crushed gooseberry, tangerine and yellow peach burst from the glass and flow across your palate. Crisp, clean, flavors of tangerine, candied lemon peel, and more pop on the long, lipsmacking, finish. Drink this and be happy.
