- Ch Du Coing Muscadet Comte De St Hubert 1999 Product #28202 (In Stock)
Here's how Wine Spectator described this wine - in June, 2003! "A dressed-up Muscadet, with almond and hints of toast lying over the more common lemon, lime, floral and briny flavors. Has just enough zip to offset the creamy-textured finish. Very nice, though a bit atypical. Drink now."
Well, 10 years later and nearly 15 years after harvest, this wine is still going strong. The aromas and flavors are a bit exotic, with white stone fruit, lemon/lime zest, lemon curd, and loads of salty mineral weaving in and out. It's still creamy in texture and still has enough acidity to stay in balance, but it's also picked up hints of fresh almond and iodine. Captivating to just sip and a perfect match for sophisticated seafood dishes. Oh - and while "drink now" is still good advice, there's no rush.

A stunning, fully mature, example of Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley’s top site for sweet wines - Quartes de Chaume.
