A classic, ripe, Auslese, Riesling, the Bastgen Kestener Paulinshof Berg 2006 is stunning in its value and approachability. Even this young, the wine gives up plenty of mango, papaya, peach, and candied lime scents on the nose. In the mouth, it's rich and frankly sweet, but the bountiful lime juice acidity highlights fresh peach and tropical fruit flavors. The finish goes on for ever. Sure, this will be at its best in 10 years - but who can wait?
