We’ve never seen a wine made from the Malvar grape in the US before, but there’s actually a fair amount of it planted south of Madrid. The Bodeags Casas Tochuelo white starts with nicely ripe Malvar that gets a cool fermentation and stay in stainless steel tanks. The result is a refreshing white that opens with aromas of white peach, pear, and green melon. Bright and juicy in the mouth, you’ll find flavors of white pineapple, crunch pear, and hints of lime skin and anise leading to a long, crisp, bright, finish. Great with shellfish and salads or just on its own. Fantastic value.
