In some ways this is Sylvan’s flagship wine, and I challenge you to find a village Puligny of anything like this quality for <$60!  Even very young, the wine has a lovely perfume of green apples, fresh butter, hazelnuts and limestone.  It’s another bright, fresh, 2007 with flavors of apple, guava, fresh butter, nuts and a fine mineral streak.  The richness in the mid-palate is striking – although it’s very energetic, there’s nothing lean or astringent about this wine.  My first tasting note on the wine was, “A good Puligy to drink,” and that’s how I feel about it now although it will age for another 7-9 years as well.  Really stunning value.
