Dr. Hienz Wagner has a a bit of affinity when it comes to picking grapes. His family has a very distinguished history of producing sparkling wines, which gives the good doctor the ability to do an extensive triage at harvest. The result is an elegant wine with pointed candied citrus notes, apricot and a mouth-watering finish. A great paring for spiced shellfish dishes.
An icy cool freshness offsets the vanilla and creamy texture in this laser-like Riesling. This builds nicely on the palate to a long finish. Needs time to unwind. Best from 2012 through 2020. 500 cases imported.
