Having southeast Asian takeout, salads, or any kind of summer food that includes lots of fresh herbs and vegetables? You've just found your new favorite rose! I tried this the other night with a stir-fried dish with Vietnamese seasonings, asparagus, and cilantro - all elements that are considered difficult to pair with wine - and this rose of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from Germany's Pfalz region did beautifully. Like many German wines, this has so much bright, lively acidity that it almost feels spritzy on the palate, but it is completely dry. Aromas of fresh red fruits like strawberry and rhubarb emerge on the nose along with intriguing green, herbal notes. Refreshing, crisp, and very easy to drink.
