This is as fine a red for spring and summer sipping and entertaining as anything we've ever seen at this price.  The wine spends about two months in wood to soften it, but shows no oak flavors or aromas at all.  It's all about juicy red fruit with a little complicating note of spice and earth.  Fresh and vibrant, the tannins on this wine are soft enough that it takes a chill well.  Drink with burgers, grilled pork, meaty fish, or anything at a picnic.  Fantastic value!

"The Winemaker’s Select is a highly attractive innovative blend of 40% Sangiovese, 40% Tempranillo and 20% Malbec. Star bright and medium ruby in color, it displays a pleasing red berry fruit nose with surprising intensity of ripe concentrated flavor and elegance on the palate. It is a great food wine and is offered at a bargain price."i-Wine Review 90 points
