Coming from the hillsides of Maremma, whcih is in the western part of Tuscany, this Italian red is one of the softest we've tasted. The wine is a blend of Sangiovese grosso, Alicante, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine displays aromas of gentle dark cherry. The palate contains flavors of lush peppered plum and anise. Meaty characteristics of apple-wood smoked bacon abound. The finish is long and smoldering. The lush tannins make it perfect for grilled meats.
