I first encountered the Schott Zwiesel “Pure” Sauvignon Blanc glass in the Caveau (or local wine store) in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy. The owner there pours his white Burgundies in these glasses, and told me he’d tried more than 50 different glasses before settling on these as the best all-around white wine glasses he could find anywhere.
That’s certainly been our experience here, too, where we’ve made the Pure Sauvignon Blanc glass our all-around tasting and buying stem for the past year. It’s lovely to look at and, because it’s made from the the patented “Tritan” glass formula, it’s also break-resistant and dishwasher safe. Best of all, though, it has a large “sweet spot” to show off every wine’s aromas and places whites and light reds perfectly on the palate for maximum enjoyment.
And, compared to other fine stems, they’re a bargain! Worth every penny of our regular $12.98 price, the Pure Sauv Blanc stem is hard to resist at a best-in-the-USA price of just $7.49/ea in a six-pack.
