Michelot White Burgundy, Bordeaux and Beringer – Fantastic Free Friday/Saturday Tastings

Looking back on our past few weeks’ worth of free tastings, we’ve really been on a roll!  From glorious 1er and Grand Cru Burgundy to Ken Wright Pinot Noirs, Brunello, big Napa Cabs and more, we’ve been drinking (or at least tasting) pretty well.  No reason to break the streak this weekend as we showcase value Bordeaux for drinking and giving, a benchmark Napa Cab and very delicious Meursault.

Join us this Friday from 3-7pm to sample this great line-up:

Dom Michelot Bourgogne Blanc 2015 - Wow - this is one delicious Burgundy Chardonnay from half-dozen small plots within the commune of Meursault tucked between the village and the RN 74.  Nicely ripe, with plenty of vibrancy, and a stellar Burgundy value.

Dom Michelot Meursault Les Narvaux 2015 - From a famous lieu dit vineyard just above 1er Cru Genevrieres, this is pretty much the essence of great Meursault - rich, buttery, mineral and very, very long.

Ch Haut Queray Bordeaux Superieur 2016 - We know you're not really ready to think about a) another great Bordeaux vintage; and b) Christmas season giving.  But this bold Merlot demands consideration for both, especially given the attractive wood case!

Now Presenting Paso Robles Red Blend 2014 - Here's a great party/cookout red blend from the sunny hills of Paso Robles.  Blending Petite Sirah, Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache with a bit of oak creates a bold mouthful of boisterous fruit and a just-right dash of chocolate and spice.

Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 2013 - One of the greatest Private Reserves  of the past 40 or so years.  It's mostly Howell Mountain fruit this year and clearly meant to cellar, but we'll see if we can get the wine to come out and play!

Then, on Saturday, we’ll swap out the fun little Paso blend for:

Dom Michelot Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2015 – Wine Spectator doesn’t give out a lot of 93 point ratings to white Burgundy.  This stunner earned every single one of those points!

We’ll have some treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and lots of great information to share, too.  Come on by and join in the tasty fun!
