Spotlight on Philippe Plantevin and Robust Rhones
Tuesday, May 2 @ 7pm
Course Fee $25

I drink a lot of wine from the Southern Rhone, but I’ve almost certainly drunk more bottles made by Philippe Plantevin than any other winemaker.  Why?  Well, the wines are delicious, they work well on their own or with food, and each one delivers far more quality and satisfaction than the modest price tags would ever suggest. And, even better - when I drink Philippe's wines, I get the extra satisfaction of knowing I'm supporting one of the most humble, nicest, and most genuine people making wine anywhere in the world today.
We'll taste 8 wines with Philippe and Olivier, including the just arrived 2012 Cotes du Rhone Villages La Daurelle and the stunning 2007 La Daurelle - because you've got to try this with a little cellar time to understand just how well it ages.  See all the details and reserve your seats online here.

Spotlight on Patricia Green Cellars with Co-Winemaker Jim Anderson
Tuesday, May 9, 7pm
Course Fee $40

Patricia Green Cellars has been among our favorite Willamette Valley wine estates for a few years now, both for the quality of the wines and the character of the people – co-winegrowers Patty Green and Jim Anderson.  After a great visit with Patty last year exploring their 2014s, you won’t want to miss the chance to meet Jim and get to know a sizzling set of 2015 releases!

Tasting through the 2015s (and some pretty impressive barrel samples of 2016s) earlier this year, I was once again impressed by the mix of no compromise purity and “wow that’s really delicious” fun Patty and Jim bring to Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.  Jim will help you understand how he and Patty make this magic happen and taste the unique character of each vineyard site they work with.  We’ll share 8 wines including the estate’s top bottling:  Notorious.  See all the details and full wine list here and reserve your seats online or by calling us at 703.356.6500 today!

Spotlight On The Majestic Rhone Wines of E. Guigal from Cotes du Rhone to Cote Rotie
Thursday, June 1, 7pm
Course Fee $50

“Legendary.”  “Masterful.” “Extraordinary.”  These are the kinds of words you hear again and again from experts and critics about the winemaking and wines of E. Guigal.  Founded by Etienne Guigal and managed today by son and grandson Marcel and Philippe Guigal, this is the estate that led the re-birth of the Northern Rhone after WWII and continues to make great wines from Cote Rotie down to Chateauneuf-du-Pape today.

Come experience some of France’s greatest wines as Christophe Courteaud from Guigal’s US importer, Vintas, leads us through the history, vineyards, and wines of this great estate.  We’ll sample 7 whites and reds from both the Southern and Northern Rhone.  The tasting will include wines from legendary vineyards like Cote Rotie and Hermitage as well as exciting bottlings from St. Joseph, Chateauneuf du Pape and more.  See all the details and reserve your seats online here or by calling us at 703.356.6500 today.

Spotlight on Two Great Vintages of Beaujolais
Thursday, June 22 @ 7pm
Course Fee:  $30

If you're ever going to explore great Gamay from it's homeland of Beaujolais, now's the time.  Vintages 2014 and 2015 are clearly two of the greatest vintages ever in this, one of the world's most under-appreciated wine regions.  Vinous titled their reviews of the two harvests "2014 Beaujolais:  Another Dream Vintage" and "2015 Beaujolais:  A Vintage of Richness and Energy."  And Wine Advocate scored the two vintages 94 and 93 points - among the highest ratings ever for Beaujolais!

Want to see what all the fuss is about?  Join us as we sample 7 (perhaps 8) great examples from vintages 2014 and 2015.  See all the details at this link, reserve your seats online, or just call us at 703.356.6500 or stop by the store.  Bravo Bojo!
